We don't have a section for this yet, but I'm in the works for a neat new project and your opinions will be helpful in ways you know not.
Who're your top 3 favorite movie heros and movie villains? They don't have to be from the same movie.
If you feel like reasons are necessary to justify your choice, that's up to you.

I will probably want to change this 80 times over and I could name all six from just one Tarantino film. I'm just going to do it off the top of my head based on films I've seen lately.
I'm going to copy Ripley Run Lola Run The guy in [eta] The Pianist (Adrian Brody) someone told me that they thought he was a coward but I thought the opposite. I don't know if Hero is the right word but he was a survivor.
Villains
Jack Nicholson - The Shining Christian Slater/Jason Dean - Heathers Alec Baldwin - The Edge (yes, I said it. I really enjoy him in that one).
I also like Michael Douglas as a villain but in a couple of films, so I didn't pick him. Russell Crowe almost made my hero list but I couldn't decide which film.

Hmm... I'll have to think some more on this, but my heroes are more of the romantic kind: Heroes: Inman (Cold Mountain) Rick O'Connell (The Mummy) Hugh Jackman, in any movie. I won't allow myself to watch Kate and Leopold because I will get stuck in a state of self pity and jealousy and wanting. Ooh- I got one more, I can't remember his character name because I haven't seen it since the theater, but Ryan Gosling in The Notebook.
I don't know about villains.... That will require some more thinking. I don't usually like movies with clear-cut villains. I can think of some really bad ones or ones I really dislike but not something I would labela favorite. Oh! I got one! It's from TV and not a movie, but I really love this character. And he's not always a villain, but he is the villain type of the show- Mr. Moseby from the Lonesome Dove tv series. (Eric McCormack) Hmmm... and I guess I like disliking Prof. Snape in the Harry Potter movies, but mostly because it's Alan Rickman and he's so brilliant.

hmm...
I will have to give this some thought... unfortunately, I don't have time for the amt. of time it would actually take me to come up with a good list.
So... I'm gonna just wing it and here's who's popped into my head:
Bad dudes: Dennis Hopper (Frank?) in Blue Velvet ---- EVIL Mr. Blonde (you know the scene--- classic) only one left, huh.... ? I'll come back to this, I guess.
Heroes: Snake Plissken (although someone mentioned Big Trouble in Little China... that's a good one, too.) Ripley (Alien/Aliens) hmm... Indiana Jones, James Bond, or Han Solo??? Since I can't decide... I'm going to go with Aragorn ... or perhaps the collective members of the Fellowship of the Ring? If we're talking books, I could say Harry Potter or Atticus Finch (To Kill a Mockingbird is my favorite book and affected me profoundly as a child.) Hmm... Gregory Peck was wonderful.
Nope... I'm gonna go with Indiana Jones as my third.... childhood nostalgia.
Oh... and my third villian in Alan Rickman's character in the original Die Hard. I do love Alan Rickman and he made that character memorable--- despite the fact that his character's name is escaping my memory.... Hans something or other.
*Oh... and Alan Rickman is a wonderful Snape and was one of the only good things about the Kevin Kostner sp? version of Robin Hood.
tangent: my top fictional crush... Mr. Darcy, of course

yep.. that's it. I have yet to see Live Free or Die Hard... I wonder if any of the bad guys hold a candle to Alan Rickman's well acted character. *** I really like Alan Rickman, so I might be biased.

I'm sorry, but as bad guys go, you just can't top Darth Vader! He looks cool, he IS cool, and he's got the Force!
I like my heros with attitude and the fact that they often move a toe or two (okay, okay, a whole foot) over the "perfect" good guy line. Heros: Indiana Jones/Han Solo Woverine John McClane Batman The Dark Knight version ONLY (no sissy versions for me) Raphael TMNT Josey Wales/The Man with No Name Vampire Hunter D -- he's a character from a Japanese anime from the '80s as well as the more recent (2006ish?) Bloodlust (just awesome) John Constantine
I like my villians to have humanity too, that little bit of good or the desire for something pure... Villians DARTH VADER - after him everyone else pales in comparison but Phantom of the Opera - Gerard Butler portrayal, OF COURSE The Sheriff of Nottingham - Alan Rickman (ooooo, he is an AWESOME bad guy!)

I'm a huge Hayden Christensen fan. I loved the star wars films and everything else he has done. So it was a great surprise to see him in Virgin Territory. Darth in a romantic comedy isn't as bad as it sounds though. He did really good and had Tim Roth to help CHECK THIS OUT
