This is a tough one because there are so many movies that I like (and of course I have more than three favorites), but here goes:
Hero 1. Charley Waite/Boss Spearman (Open Range) - to coin a phrase, they just "blew me away" (and the bad guys too)!
2. John McClane
3. Edmond Dantes (Jim Caviezel) in The Count of Monte Cristo - I loved how his revenge was plotted out.
4. Doc Holliday (Val Kilmer's best performance IMHO).
Villain 1. Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman) - he was just awesome.
2. Jackson Rippner (from Red Eye) - he really creeped me out.
3. Gary Oldman's character from Air Force One.
4. One additional villain I have to mention is Bruce Dern's character in The Cowboys. He did such a good job playing the bad guy, that I haven't cared for him since (he shot John Wayne)! It's my understanding that he actually received death threats after this performance.

Lizardman was always one of my favorite characters in film. Especially because he has the dual personality of good character trapped in an evil character. Same as Spiderman was timid character playing and action hero, Lizardman inner turmoil is more interesting than the characters action sequence abilities. Check out : Spiderman.
