I've met people who have never heard of this show (those sad, sad people....) but I refuse to believe no one here has never seen this hilarious TV show. One of the greatest shows on TV before they were sold off to Sci Fi.
Anywho, tying in with the theme of this section, I'd have to say Manos: Hands of Fate was the best episode they ever did. The film was so amazingly bad it was hard to believe those people weren't forced to do the film at gunpoint.
Anyone else have a favorite?

You know, I had never seen this show until I started dating Mr. Cali. But I've still only seen the episodes with Mike (after it was sold to SciFi) when they were rerunning them on SciFi. It was a sad, sad day when they took that off the air.
I did see my first Joel episode a couple weeks ago, and I have to say, I like Mike better. One of my friends was actually in a movie that they showed, but I haven't seen it (she is very defensive of her movie too...it's funny).
My favorite isn't actually a movie...it's a short educational film they show before the movie about springs. It features Coily the Spring Sprite, an animated spring, who shows this guy what the world would be like without springs. It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen (best line ever "Mike, what is Coily's place in God's plan for us?").

I remember that short! I laughed so hard I cried. One of the classic shorts was "What to do on a date" and it was every boring 50's activity you could think of.
"Hey guys, what's a weenie roast?"
What film was your friend in? I've been watching the show since I was a kid so it's a safe bet I've seen it. ;D

Um...I don't actually know the name of it...it was about aliens (yeah, I'm sure that helps!) - she played a waitress in one scene. I don't think she even had any lines or anything (which is sad, because I've seen her in several plays, and she is quite brilliant). Wait...let me IMDB her:) Heh...it was called Tangents (and I don't think it was about aliens...) I'm going to use her in my next review as the Josh Brolin connection one way or another!

MST3K is great. I have to agree with you, Papillon, Manos is one of the best. That movie is just horrible. Another favorite of mine is Space Mutiny. I'm sure you've seen that.
I'm surprised they never did Troll 2. Have you ever seen it? If not, then it's must-see bad movie. I'm gonna do a review of it soon. Plus, and here's the big news, one of the "actors" from Troll 2 has agreed to do an interview for the Movie Mark! Should be fun.
More later, gotta go eat...

I believe the Springs short was before Squirm - the one about the earthworms that take over the town.
I would have to say that Space Mutiny is my favorite episode. Pod People and Manos were also great.
I haven't seen most of the earlier episodes. I have season 4 on DVD, but that's pretty much all I've seen of Joel. I personally prefer Mike.

OMG, I totally forgot about Squirm! That one always cracks me up! There's also one about Spider Island (the Terror of Spider Island maybe?) that is just an excuse for a bunch of girls to run around in bikinis. It's histerical!

It was Horrors of Spider Island. I was surprised that they had T&A films back then. There's another one called The Giant Spider Invasion with the Skipper from Gilligan's Island. His first line in the film is "Hello there little buddy"!

Another great one was Merlin's shop of Magical Wonders. I almost cried when I saw Ernest Borgnine was in it, how humiliating would that be to put on your resume?
"Remember to believe in magic, or I'll kill you!"
Also a bad fantasy movie was the Delta Knights, it was just sad.

"At least it wasn't Quest of the Delta Burkes!"

"My name is Baydool, can you say it?" "Let me see. 'Get bent', oh I guess I can't."

I always appreciate the inside jokes. I don't always get them, but there was one movie where they referenced Fawlty Towers and I marked out huge.
Puma Man was another bad one.

I sure would enjoy an MST3K on the stink bomb "In the Dead of Space" (AKA "Space Fury") starring, of course, Michael Pare.
