Am I the only one who liked Jaquay? (Sorry, I have to say it like 227...she's not a Jackie...she's a Jaquay)
Actually, I hated her at first too, but ended up liking her by the end of the season (though -spoiler alert - I totally had her pegged as the killer. I can't even remember why now, but boy was I wrong!). I am hoping she's gone for good though - she definitely doesn't need to be around for more than one season.

Re: Jackie I can't say that I enjoyed her character. I guess she served some purpose, but I wouldn't call her a strong addition to the cast. She did get a little less annoying as the season drew to a close. I hated her at first.... then I progressed to being able to stomach her.

Does anybody else think Lisa Rinna has the most absolutely disgusting lips in Hollywood? Ugh.
It's not just that they're big, they look like she's suffered some sort of collagen infection. Her top lip looks deformed.
Harry Hamlin is pretty scary-looking as well.

Lisa Rinna is really scary! I thought Harry Hamlin was really good in this, but yes, he is scary-looking as well.
I don't think you've gotten to this part yet (actually, it might be in season 2), but there's a scene where one of the entertainment shows is on in the background talking about Aaron Echolls for some reason, and they show a scene from one of his earlier movies. They actually show a scene of Harry Hamlin from Clash of the Titans. We thought that was cool.

Someone should create a Sci-Fi original wherein various famous people's distinguishing body parts are morphed together into one horrible monster.
Just think of it: Lisa Rinna's over inflated lips, Ben Affleck's chin-butt, Morgan Freeman's poppy seed cheeks, Dave Navarro's caterpillar eyebrows, Sarah Jessica Parker's beak... and flatten it all down ala Julia Stiles...
*shudder*

Or it could have its very own Sci-Fi Original. Oh, and don't forget Rosie O'Donnell's back hair.

Didn't care for the episode all that much though. What's up with two cultish episodes within a three episode time span??? Oh well, Veronica couldn't have been any cuter when she said "Gotta boogie" and "Shut yo mouth," and I liked the "Veronica Mars is smarter than me" message on the money, so I'll give a little more leeway. Her cuteness is sure earning a lot of that!

Kristen Bell is the biggest reason this show is so good. She's really good at what she does and manages to pull off even the dumbest storylines. She pulls off the "smart mouth" talk a lot better than most actresses could too.

In regard to VM, Ms. Cali stated:
That does it - I'm convinced that you work for the show! Now ladies, don't get bent out of shape, but I've gotta keep things real, right?
For those of you who haven't watched the show and don't want to be spoiled then I recommend reading no further (this means you Mr. Shade).
[glow=red,2,300]SPOILERS AHEAD[/glow]
How, Ms. Cali - self-professed cracker of every movie plot twist nut of all time - can you label this the best plot twist ever???
To be honest, I wouldn't call it a twist at all - just a revelation.
After all the hype, I couldn't believe that was it. Logan's dad was totally on my short list.
Come on - he was cheating on his wife and they showed his abusive nature. As soon as Veronica noticed the video camera in the bedroom I totally knew it was him.
Seriously, who else did you think it could be?
We knew it wouldn't be Duncan (cliched red herring #1), Logan (cliched red herring #2), Meixcan boy (cliched red herring #3) or Lily's parents.
So the only way I would have really been surprised is if the killer had been Veronica, her dad, her mom, or black dude.
I thought it would've been clever if it was revealed that Veronica was the killer and it somehow happened while she was under the influence of the drug, but nope.
It was an OK revelation, but I was let down. Duncan yelling out "I SLEPT WITH MY SISTER" (or whatever the exact phrase was), while bordering the line of soap opera-ish, was more shocking than Logan's dad being the killer.
Sigh.
Oh well. I enjoyed the show, but I was disappointed in the "twist."
I still prefer Lost and Prison Break.
But in the interest of fairness, Stephanie says she prefers VM to Lost because she feels the episodes are more satisfying because they each have their own mystery to be solved.
Now, have at it.

Quick question - do you think it'd be all right to start watching Season 3 without having watched Season 2? Or is there a chance Season 2 will be ruined?
I know that's hard to say since Season 3 hasn't started yet, but I'm sure y'all are smart enough to figure out a way to make an educated guess.

well... there may be some things that are lost in translation if you will. I could see some puns or jokes or references being made that you might not get.
I think that character development wise you'd miss out on quite a bit. For that reason alone, I'd say that you might want to check out the second season. Let me know and I'll let you borrow mine.
However... the third season should find our favorite, sassy sleuth entering college. *(A few characters have been introduced at the end of the last season). On a whole... I am thinking that you would probably be able to watch the third season and not be totally lost.
AGAIN... A LOT OF CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT in season two.
I'll let some of the other folks who are regular watchers of the show weigh in.

I already watched the season 3 premiere as msn released it a week early. I shall, however, bite my tongue until it airs on TV before commenting.
However, to answer the question above, watching season 3 episode one will ruin season 2 for you if you haven't finished it yet.

Johnny... let us know when you are caught up so that we may ensue with our discussions. Am I the only one watching the 3rd season? I will say this.... I have yet to be wowed, but I'm still willing to watch the show. However... I record it on the dvr and then fast forward through the atrocious lead-ins and what have you w/ the "school girls". What a shame.... is this suppose to help the show get a bigger audience by having a round table discussion w/ some sorority chicks at the beginning and end of the show? It's almost enough to make me stop watching the show. I hope they don't dumb down the show in attempt to get a larger viewing audience. This new campaign could be the equivilant of jumping the shark. Okay... I'm so irritated just thinking about it that I have to go.

Johnny... let us know when you are caught up so that we may ensue with our discussions. I'd like to give a big thanks to Tangentgirl for loaning me her copy of V-Mars Season 2! In less than a week I've made it through the first 15 episodes. Should finish up this weekend, and no later than the beginning of the week. I think I'm actually enjoying Season 2 a little more than Season 1. Thanks also to TG for loaning me the non-Brolin version of Night Watch and Furry Hamsters from Hell. I'm more excited about that one than I should be.

Yeah...you just might be more excited about that one than you should be. I think that even if my friend Jim wasn't in it that I'd have found it humorous. It is low budget from start to finish.... be forewarned. Also... I hope that it holds up. It's an old VHS tape. Please note that it is signed though.... maybe it'll be worth big bucks one day.
