Is there any Bettheads out there who are as excited as I am?

I'm very interested in this movie because I love Sci-Fi and the trailers looked good -- but I don't know anything about the website et all that inspired this movie. The director/writer is known to me and generally speaking I like him, so I'm expecting good things.

Going on the trailer this could be fun. I don't know anything about thoughts behind the movie, but, like FieryMaid, I like Sci-Fi and this could be a good one. Lets hope it is...

I'll be there this friday! I was a Buffy/Angel fan, but my favorite Joss Whedon show was definitely Firefly. JB, I think you would actually like it - it has a Western feel to it, with a sci-fi twist. I call it a Space Western.

I know that the movie was written so that people who have never seen the TV series or read the comic books will be able to follow it, but a good website for episode summaries and transcipts is www.browncoats.comThe brown coats are those who fought on the losing side of the war was called. The captain of Serenity, Mal, was a brown coat. On Sci-Fi Channel they are playing the Firefly episodes today and airing a special "Sci-Fi Inside: Serenity" tonight at 9 pm and at 12 am and again on Friday at 2:30 pm I believe.

All right, I'll accept that this is something I might enjoy, but come on, Ms. Cali and TaMara - WHERE'S THE JOSH BROLIN LOVE??? You ladies are TYR fans! I'm deeply disappointed in your lack of excitement for Josh's big screen opportunity. So sad.

Actually, I have been telling people to go see Josh's new movie too! (It's on my list as well...Serenity is just higher up, because Jessica Alba is not in Serenity). We went camping with Mr. Cali's boss this weekend, and he is all excited to see it. So there.

For me, what it all comes down to is that my friend I usually see movies with is a Kidette. So she really couldnt understand why we needed to see the Josh Brolin Movie (at least she knew why I was interested in a Josh Borlin movie). I'm doing good to drag her to Serenity, if I accomplish that. I'm just hoping we stay away from Pride and Prejudice.
That is... if I get to the movies at all...

because Jessica Alba is not in Serenity. I dare say that no eye candy in Serenity will equal that which Ms. Alba bestowed upon us in Into the Blue. I have to say that the obvious shilling that the fanboys are doing for Serenity on IMDb makes me NOT want to see it just based on principal. I'm sorry, but don't tell me that it's a "leaf that soars on the wind" and expect me to take you seriously. Somebody else claimed the script is one of the most masterfully woven of all time. BWAHAHAHA! Yeah right. Another fanboy review claimed, "You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll gasp in shock." No, I won't cry. I'll put money on it. And I highly doubt I'll gasp in shock. My guess is a fan club or fansite thought it'd be cute to bombard IMDb with overhyped reviews and suggested everybody use the following themes: 1) Compare it to Star Wars 2) Talk about how it runs the emotional gamut 3) Try to convince people that this is a movie that will appeal to more than just the uber geek demograhic 4) Mention how much of a genius Joss Whedon is It's all just a bit much.

Johnny, I was hoping you would reveiw Serenity so I could have an idea from a non-Joss-Whedon-fanboy perspective!

JB, how can you not want to see a movie based on a show that has the line "If somebody tries to kill, you just kill them right back!"
Stupid *(^%#(*%^ fanboys ruin it for everyone.

JB, how can you not want to see a movie based on a show that has the line "If somebody tries to kill, you just kill them right back!" Stupid *(^%#(*%^ fanboys ruin it for everyone. That's the thing - since I never saw the show I feel like I should watch the reruns first in order to accurately gauge it. The last time I saw a movie so overhyped on IMDb was right before the release of The Blair Witch Project. All I heard was how it was the scariest movie of all time, people were dropping dead out of fear right in the audience, the theater was selling underwear and pants because of how many people were soiling themselves, etc. etc. Then after watching the movie I thought, "Well. That kind of sucked." Now look at this quote from one of the fanboy reviews for Serenity: "The movie captures that beautiful feeling but takes us on a ride that there's no turning back from. In my opinion, the one thing that makes for a truly GREAT movie is if you walk out of the theater a different person than when you walked in. This movie takes you on such a journey I didn't know if I would leave the theater at all." Give. Me. A. Freakin'. Break. So the movie was such a great journey that the dude thought he might not ever leave the theater, huh? Wow, might as well make this movie a religion because you walk out a totally different person than when you walked in! I hear that the Bible is now being printed with all mentions of "God" being replaced with "Joss Whedon." Sigh. Come on. It's too bad they had to screen this one on the same night as Into the Blue. I wanted to see it early so that I could offer an unbiased opinion. Plus, I hoped there would be enough to make fun of just to make a few fanboys cry.

One other thing - I assume Adam Baldwin (he is NOT a Baldwin brother) is the main character? I like him. Who here has seen My Bodyguard? I loved that movie when I was a kid.

Johnny, I hope you haven't forgotten that I am a Kidette? (although by saying this I've probably given you another reason to think I'm crazy, right?)
And to answer your question I think the main charater is Nathan Fallon who plays Captain Malcolm.
Also, I have not heard you say anthing about the fact that Paul Walker is the lead guy in Into the Blue. Didn't you once say that Paul Walker went to the Keanu Reeve School of Acting?
