Being a fan of C.S. Lewis, I'm soooooo excited about The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe! I went to Comicon in San Diego today, and there was a discussion panel with some of the cast and crew of the movie. It was revealed to us that the voice of Aslan the lion will be none other than Liam Niessen (sp?). And we got to see a trailer they put together just for Comicon. Anyway, this looks fantastic - it's looks like it is very true to C.S. Lewis' original story. The director (um...I don't remember his name, but he directed Shrek 2, which I liked a lot) said he wanted to do a movie that was true not only to the book, but also to the way he imagined it when he read it as a child (as opposed to using his adult point of view based on rereading it). The result looks to be exactly that (not silly, but magical). Lewis left a lot to the imagination in these books, so there was room to expand while still being true to the books. I wish it was going to be released before December.

I hate Christian-themed movies but even I'll admit that this was one fantastic book and the trailer was amazing. Will definitely see this.
