Well, to continue my tradition, I'll talk about another movie no one else cares about. If you couldn't guess by the subject, it's called "Stage Beauty". Starring Claire Danes and Billy Cruddup (sp?) The story is: good Queen Bess is gone, and now Charles II reigns. So far, men have dominated the theatre stage; no women are allwoed to tread the boards. Charles II is quite a ladies man, and mostly to please his mistress Nell Gwyn, he decided that women should be allowed to portray women on the stage. (thus far, men played women's roles). Billy's character has been the leading lady, so to speak, and Claire is his dressing room maid, who longs to be on the stage. With the new laws, she becomes a star and he is left behind. The website says something about her making a man out of him... Some have said it looks like a new version of "Shakespeare in Love". I think they can make it interesting enough. And it is a few years after Will's time. I've read a lot about this time period in my favorite author's (Lauren Royal) books. All of hers are set in the King Charles II Restoration period. And girls, let me tell you, if you like romances, hers are the best.
Anyway, JB said he wants to review this as much as he wants to see Rosie O'Donnell take her shirt off, so when it comes out October 22, I'll be ready with a review the next day. If anyone cares...

Well, JB did not mention this movie in his "What's opening this week" comments... so I will just drop a quick note to remind you that Stage Beauty opens nationwide this Friday as well as those other movies. And to remind you that I will see it and have a review!

OK, I must Rescind this statement, as the movie was not widely released today as I was first told by IMDb. Pooh. It's playing about two hours away though... I'm weighing the options...
