Seems like we've had a few movies to watch/mock recently.
Of the new theatrical movie releases this year so far, which one would you consider your favorite?
Any takers?

wow...nobody's responded to this? where has everyone been?
Okay, I'll go...
Favorite so far this year...um, what movies did I see this year? Oh, yeah: The Number 23 Reno 911: Miami Blades of Glory The Invisible Spiderman 3 PotC3 Oceans 13 Fantastic 4 2
So, out of those EIGHT movies that I've managed to go see so far this year, I would say the best was The Invisible. The funniest was Reno 911: Miami (that cracked me up), and the worst was Spiderman 3.
Other highlights - PotC3 and The Number 23.

Blades of Glory was funnier than it had any right to be, although I doubt that it would hold up well under repeated viewings. The same, of course, cannot be said for Jenna Fischer's bustier she wore in the film. That holds up nicely, thankyouverymuch! (Come on...I had to say it!)
Pirates 3 was good, although I was mostly just exhausted by the time it was over.
Disturbia was a lot better than I thought it was going to be, although David Prowse needs to fire whatever hairdresser thought it would be a good idea to give him a mini-mullet. I think it was the same guy who worked on The Da Vinci Code, personally.
Wow. How sad is it that I can't think of other films that I've seen thus far worth mentioning? I'm sure someone will mention one and I'll slap my head and say "duh!"

Heh...I googled 2007 Movie releases or something like that, and found a website that showed everything that's been released to theaters so far this year. Only 8 movies, and I'd forgotten most of them already!
Blades of Glory was funny, but not the funniest Will Ferrell move ever (that would be Anchorman or Taladega Nights).

I've been meaning to come back to this, so thanks for the reminder!
Laslo, man, how could you forget 300?!?!
All right, here are my lists and the explanation for the lists. This includes all the theatrically released movies I've seen this year.
TOP 10
These films are cemented in my 2007 Top 10 list and it would take something major to knock one out.
Zodiac 300 Grindhouse
POTENTIAL TOP 10 ALTERNATES
These films are among the 10 best I've seen so far this year, but considering the strength of some of the movies still to be released, only one or two have a legitimate shot at making my list at year's end.
The Number 23 Disturbia 28 Weeks Later Once Knocked Up 1408 Fracture
GENERALLY LIKED BUT HAVE NO CHANCE TO MAKE THE TOP 10
I enjoyed all of these, and might watch them again sometime if the mood were right, but they didn't do enough to flirt with the top 10.
Music and Lyrics Breach Amazing Grace TMNT Shooter Blades of Glory Vacancy
BOTTOM 10
If any of these don't make the final Bottom 10 list then it will have been a horrible year at the movies.
Code Name: The Cleaner Smokin' Aces The Hitcher Because I Said So The Condemned
SHOULDER SHRUGS
This group consists of movies I either moderately enjoyed, ones that entertained on a certain cheese level (see Ghost Rider), or ones that I didn't care enough about either way to give them much thought. I have no need nor desire to see any of these again.
The Messengers Hannibal Rising Ghost Rider Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer Evan Almighty Black Snake Moan Waitress
RECEIVED WIDE RELEASE IN 2007 BUT TECHNICALLY COUNT TOWARDS 2006
The title says it all.
Pan's Labyrinth Letters from Iwo Jima

300!!
*slaps forehead and says DUH!, as promised*
See, this is why JB makes the big bucks. YES...300 would be at the top of my list for most amazing film I've seen this year so far.
Geez... how COULD have I forgotten that one? *shakes head* Senility. It's not just for my grandfather anymore.

Grindhouse.
And it's a tragedy that no one saw it...
I have absolutely no respect for the American public. **sigh**

I'd like to change my vote and say that the return of Nikkibluejeans is officially the best thing I've seen so far in 2007.
