LOL JB! I love the SBTB tie ins! Favorite part - Would that song go: "When I wake up in the morning, and my alarm gives out a warning, I don't think I'm gonna make it on time..." Yeah, I know all the lyrics to the California Dreams theme song too. I'm a dork! And FYI: Slater got over Kelly quickly. So maybe he's joined the force to win his love, Jessie, back from a pasty granola boy named Eric. (Though, living in LA, he probably spells it Eriq). Though I do love the NYPD Blue reference as well!

Would that song go: "When I wake up in the morning, and my alarm gives out a warning, I don't think I'm gonna make it on time..." That would hinge on my ability to obtain permission to use it. I've heard that the original composer will gladly accept a Whopper Combo for payment, so I can probably make it happen. And FYI: Slater got over Kelly quickly. So maybe he's joined the force to win his love, Jessie, back from a pasty granola boy named Eric. (Though, living in LA, he probably spells it Eriq). Though I do love the NYPD Blue reference as well! Thank you, thank you. In the case of Decker trying to win the love of Jessie I could just use some references about how he also wanted to provide a life for her that would give her the ability to walk away from the Vegas stripgirl act she fell into. Maybe have a love triangle so as to include both NYPD BlueAND Showgirls references. People will be shocked at the story and character depth. Or, more aptly, the lack thereof.

Speaking of tools, I think you ought to add Sandra Oh as Detective Makita, or maybe a cameo by Corey Feldman as Inspector DeWalt...
The possibilities are endless...
