The other day I saw an older couple with beer bottles resting comfortably in their armrests. They'd quickly cover them up whenever an employee would start looking around the theater.
I've sat near people who have snuck (sneaked) in Chinese food, quesadillas, hot wings, etc.
So what's the most interesting, weirdest, biggest, riskiest, something else ending in "est" thing you've snuck (sneaked) into a movie? A whole birthday cake? A turkey? A DVD player to watch a better movie in case the one you're at is a stinker?
Beth G's got the ball rolling with orange scones. I love how specific that is. Not just scones, but ORANGE scones.
So let's hear it...

Most of the theaters near my house let you buy "extravagant" food such as burgers, tacos, pizza, ice cream, and take it in the theater with you. This cuts down on the need to sneak food in, provided you are willing to pay the hiked prices. But, since that is a discussion for another board, I'll get back to the topic at hand.
I once snuck in a whole box of Triscuits and a can of Cheez Whiz. My friend and I just wanted to see if we could. We even shared with other people around us so they wouldn't rat us out.

Alcohol is NOT that unusual a thing for people to sneak in. When I've had to clean shows, I've found PLENTY of beer/wine bottles (even those tiny bottles you get on planes and in hotels). It's really awful, because they're glass, and if they break......plus, most theaters don't have liquor licenses (but there ARE some), so......
Personally, the weirdest thing I've snuck into a theater is when, at the same time, I brought two homemade deli sandwiches, fruit snacks, carrot sticks with ranch dip, a 1lb bag of hot tamales, a 1lb bag of Jolly Rancher lollipops, a bag of Hershey's hugs, a bag of almond M&Ms, and a large water bottle. Yep, I had lunch while I was watching........

I have what I like to call "The Movie Purse". It's this huge, woven, stretchy thing - it almost constitutes a "satchel", or "Pony Express Mail Pouch," if you will. 
In it - and all at one time - I have smuggled in bags of combos (not those little pouches, but bags), packages of silly straws, bags of gummie bears, boxes of Reese's Pieces, two or more 1-liter bottles of soda - just about every kind of pre-packaged junk food imagineable. Oh, and pistachio nuts.
I always think that someone's going to bust me. I'm walking around with a veritable wrecking ball of a purse swinging at my side, the wrappers inside it crackling so obviously... Surely the bottom will fall out at any moment, or a small child will unknowingly cross the food-filled pendulum's path and (God forbid!) lose a limb. 
But somehow, I always get away with it. So, I never learn my lesson - and each time, I vow to pack even more into it than I did the last time... as I set out to tempt fate yet again...

I've done the "Sneak the drink in in your coat pocket" thing a time or two, and I've snuck in candy before (there's a candy store just down the street from our theater...the prices really aren't any better than the theater's, but they have "snowcaps", which I love, so I usually sneak those in).
But then again, in our theater, I've actually sat in line (Inside the theater itself) eating my snuck in candy, along with people eating California Pizza Kitchen (gourment pizzas), McDonalds, Starbucks, etc. They really aren't that strict there. I will also gladly pay their prices for popcorn and a coke if I want one - I just consider it all part of the movie going experience (and after I realized what a tiny bottle of Coke cost in a pub in Ireland, I am happy to pay less for a giant coke at a movie theater here).

A large Hot and Ready Pizza from Little Ceasers. Which costs about the same as a large drink at the theater.  It was a struggle but I managed to sneak it in with the help of a few friends. |

Are you kiding? How on earth could you manage to get that in?Even if you took it out of the box it would smell even if you got in I am suprised that noone said anything to the office.

I once snuck 3 McDonald's menu's into the theater for me and two friends. I was hungry and there was no more time left, so the logical thing to do was to just eat them during the movie, right?
Tasted pretty good by the way...

Mickey D's has "menus" You ate them??? I'm confused. Did you mean meals ? I am enjoying the image of someone sneaking in one of those drive through billboard/ menu things though. Now that would truly be a feat! |

heheh he means "meals" .. literally translated from dutch, they have "menu's"  Haven't snuck anything in, because frankly we're allowed to !?! I'm not sure what the deal is overthere, but there's no check up (at the entrance) on what you can bring along, or eat/drunk/use at the theater... The abuse - or use for that matter - is so much as nill actually, most of the people pay the overpriced fee for drinks, food and candy at the theater .. 'guess they don't care *shrug* |

Ahh... I should learn to look at the location of those posting before I bust their chops... smile.
The theatre going experience is indeed different in Europe... though I can truly only speak on England and mostly Germany. Actually I take that back... I saw Roadhouse in Belgium and that was really very strange. The translations were way off... the theatre was huge and very cool though.
Still... it would be truly amazing if someone could sneak in a billboard menu, no?

The best part of the theater in Ireland was the popcorn. I don't know why it was so good, but it really was. I liked how you go in and get your snacks and then pay for it and your tickets all at once. Much more convenient that way (and you're not standing in line waiting for all the people in front of you to choose their snacks so you can buy your tickets - there's a separate area where you go to pick up snacks, and then get back in the ticket line).
