REMEMBERED: Chris Penn, star of Reservoir Dogs and brother to Sean and Michael, found dead in his Santa Monica home at age 43. Cause of death is being investigated, but police say there are no signs of foul play.
I know Johnny and I both had a liking for Chris Penn and his fluctuating weight. I even used to have a website for him (but donated it to someone else and most images have been removed).
He was in 'Pale Rider' and 'Footloose' and chunked up a bit when starring as Brad in one of the coolest episodes of The Young Riders "Matched Pair" (Season 1- episode 20- note the Navy Colts). I'll have to have a viewing of that tonight.
He then became really fat and shortened his name to 'Chris'. I didn't realise for a while that it was the same actor in 'Rush Hour' and 'Reservoir Dogs."
Of course, he starred alongside the ubiquitous Stephen Baldwin in "One Tough Cop" and "Under the Hula Moon".
Personally, my favourite role of his was "The Funeral" where he had a powerful performance and showed off a great singing voice too.
Of course, to me he will be best remembered for the gayest of all movie scenes where Ren (Kevin Bacon) shows Willard (Chris Penn) to dance and frolic in the woods to the tune of.
Let's Hear It For The Boy!
Chris had a few run-ins with the law and drug problems but he snarled as well as Sean Penn and sang as well as Michael Penn I think.
RIP

Oh, no. I've just heard this from you here. Chris Penn was someone I loved to see on screen, as he'd usually put in a decent performace. And because he was so different from Sean they weren't interchangable - unlike for example the Baldwins used to be. Very sad.

Let's Hear It For The Boy! RIP [/quote] How very sad. I actually liked him in Footloose. And speaking of RIPs, I'm still pouting over the news I just got of Pat Morita's death in November. He was Mr. Miyagi. Loved that guy. *whimper*
