Yesterday was an excellent day. While talking to a friend of mine who is a independant filmmaker, he told me that George Lucas was in the building. I had to meet him, and I did. Unfortaetley i dint get to ask him questions or become his friend but just meeting him was great, It's days like those that i love working on films.

Hey ntm, where do you live? That's cool that you met GL (almost as cool as that time I met Teaspoon! LLOL).
It's weird, because I moved to LA NOT wanting to work in the industry. And even though I don't, I'm around it all the time through people who come into my shop (I hear all the good gossip, let me tell you!), and it just pulls you in. You can't get away from it in this town!

Heh..."Lifetime Presents...she moved to the big city, wanting to avoid "the industry". But just when she thought she had succeeded, it began to surround her." Complete with soundbites like "You'll never get away from it in this town!" (said in meanacing voice) and "I never recognize the famous people, even when they're standing right in front of me." If it were four years ago, it would star Tori Spelling or Tiffani Amber Theissen...now it would star Poppy Montgomery (based on the commercial for a lifetime movie I saw earlier).
If we put in a lot of things blowing up (and maybe Stephen Segal), it would totally be an FX movie. Maybe I should write the script and market it to both channels!
Move to LA...I'll teach you to knit, and you can work in my yarn shop...I certainly need the help right now!

We culd have a "Ms. Cali Spins a Yarn" (get it??) section where you relate your brushes with Hollywood. It'd be awesome.

And here I am thinking I'm all cool cuz I get to talk to a descendant of the real Jimmy Hickok on an almost daily basis for work. (for real, no lie.)

Because this industry is weird...you hear a lot of the gossip, but if you publish it, you will never hear it again. If I heard it outside of work, I would probably go online right away and blab it all, but since it's my job, I have to be more selective of what I tell. A lot of the people I hear it from are really good, regular customers who work in the industry, so I don't want to ge them into any trouble either.
But I like the idea of my own little column...hmmm...maybe I'll just start making up gossip with fake people:)
