But I guest I shouldn't be surprised in this day and age. (see link at the end of this little rant) Political Correctness is one thing (I do believe we should be sensitive and tolerant of the beliefs of others), but this is a huge overreaction in my opinion. It's a tv show people! About terrorists! Of course they are going to portray the terrorists as...well, terrorists! They are not saying every muslim is like that! My goodness. (And I would feel the same way if the characters were Christians, or Californians, or frequenters of a certain movie review website...just because they happen to be part of a certain group does not mean everyone in that group is the same or that the producers of this show want us to believe that). I guess I wouldn't be as annoyed by this if 24 wasn't such a great show. It's well done and entertaining, mainly because it hasn't let political correctness get in its way so far. Sadly, that seems like it is about to end. story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=797&ncid=799&e=4&u=/eo/20050116/en_tv_eo/15718

Doesn't surprise me at all. People love to whine and complain and act like their rights are constantly being infringed upon. If there's nothing to complain about, then they'll make something up real fast.
There ARE Muslim families acting as sleeper cells over here. It's called a fact of life, deal with it. I don't start firing off complaint letters every time a movie or TV show depicts a white American male as a serial killer.
OH NO! EVERYBODY IS GONNA THINK ALL WHITE AMERICAN MALES ARE SERIAL KILLERS!
Loosen up, knock the chip off, and enjoy life a little.

Did anyone catch last week's episode? It featured two Muslim men who decided to stand side by side with Jack and fight. They gave this whole "we love America" speech that was only missing Toby Keith playing in the background.
It reminded me of that "Mad TV" sketch about the patriotic Iraqi tow truck driver...
I'm all for respect and tolerance, but this was just pandering.
I sincerely believe that the root of all the world's ills is a fundamental lack of a sense of humor.

I sincerely believe that the root of all the world's ills is a fundamental lack of a sense of humor. Gotta agree with you on this one. My family never did embrace the fact that I laughed the time my grandmother slipped on the ice and nearly did a backflip. When the evil glares actually started to pierce my skin I decided to explain myself: Grandma fell on ice and that can't be reversed, so why not lighten the mood and laugh about it a little? Granted, the fact that I was pointing at her and imitating the fall (all while saying, "Look at me, I'm grandma! WHOOPS!") probably didn't help my case any.

*dying laughing* I love Michael McDonald! The Perisan Tow Truck Driver is his best skit (well, okay, maybe the Stewart Skits).
Johnny, my grandma broke her shoulder ice skating a few years ago! You should not laugh when grandma's fall on the ice. It's not nice!
(true story though...my grandma was a great ice skater when she was younger, so she went to the rink with me one year and fell over a rut in the ice...it was horrible!)
