All right, you now know what movies I was most disappointed with in 2004: www.themoviemark.com/movieminutiae/mostdisappointingof2004.aspBut keep in mind, these movies weren't really bad, and I enjoyed them on some level, it's just that my expectations were so high they had a lot to live up to. So what movies disappointed YOU the most?

Well.. there's only 1 that comes to mind now.. and that's Hidalgo
I went to see it because my girlfriend dragged me to it... (It's the guy from Lord of the Rings... *swoon*... he's sooooo cute ... *giggle*... and he's a cowboy now too ... *more swooning*).... I didn't expect much... but I didn't expect a movie about a HORSE ! IT'S ABOUT A HORSE ! And it is about 3 hours long or something. While in the theater I could see more victims of their girlfriends assertiveness. We all met in the toilet after the movie... there was crying... there was comfort in seeing we weren't alone... it helped...
Hidalgo... uggh...

;D That's hilarious. A Very vivid description of your misery. I never wanted to see that movie, because I knew *something* was bound to happen to the horse and I can't stand to watch animals in movies; something bad always happens to them.
My most disappointing movie of 2004 I actually watched on saturday- De-Lovely. I was looking forward to it, bought the soundtrack, and it never was released in theaters around me. Now I know why. It was a depressing ramble revolving around the bi-sexual life of Cole Porter, and the strange yet understanding relationship with his wife while they went through the hills and valleys of his turbulent career in the 20's and 30's. I couldn't even finish watching it. Mike and I turned it off close to the end and just sat stunned, too sullen to even talk about the movie till the next day. I highly reccommend avoiding it. The music and great acting, sadly, wasn't worth it.

If I had better memory retention, Mike and I wouldn't have had to sit the the gory director's cut DVD of "King Arthur". It makes perfect sense now whay it's on JB's Disappointing Movies list. Clive Owen was good, Ray Winstone was great (who? you ask- well, he was the guy who only had like 10 lines but had the most well-developed and interesting character) but the rest of the acting was so-so. ("excuse me, Miss Knightly, we need you to purse your lips just a little more, they're not reaching beyond your nose yet") Not that they had the best dailogue to work with. Random conversations that had no beginning, no end and no point revolved around the vague concept of freedom and loyalty to a country that didn't technically exist yet. The battle scenes were the only thing that saved it from being disdainfully removed from the DVD player.
