Interested to know if anyone else has found themselves using quotes from movies in everyday life, and if so, which ones? Even though I wasn't all that impressed with the film (preferred 'Muppet Treasure Island' ) I find myself using Johnny Depp's "That's Interesting" line from 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' quite often, especially to myself when something unexpected happens. this comes up off and on... I have a friend who used to be a roommate a few years ago, and she would say this movie quote, and I picked it up. It's from some 80's movie, Family Vacation, Christmas something or other. but apparently there was a family dog called "Fuzzhead" and the mom would call out to the dog to come home, " Fuzz-head... Fuzzhead, Fuzzhead, FUZZ-head". Anyway this friend started calling my dog that, and I still do it. That friend was really good with the movie quotes. We liked to do "Not the gumdrop buttons! You're a MONSTER!" from Shrek a lot. the only thing my husband and I have picked up recently was from Robin Williams' comedy concert in 2002 where he said that all cats must be drag queens. When you walk by them they stick out their butt as if to say " Who loves kitty?" We say it all the time to our cats now.

Monty Python/Holy Grail ("I'm NOT dead.", "Nee", "It's only a flesh wound!", "What are you gonna do, bleed on me?" "A shrubbery!")
Matrix (especially when watching LoTR, it is most humorous to add "Mr. Anderson" to everything Elron says.)
Spaceballs ("There is only one man who would DARE give me the raspberry!", "Yogurt, I hate yogurt: even with strawberries.", "I see your schwartz is as big as mine."
Scarlet Pimpernel (1982) ("Synch me!" "I'd never dream of depriving you of your moment of triumph, alas, a moment was all I could spare.")
The Princess Bride ("Mawwage." "Inconcievable!")

I'm dying to use the following:
"That won't matter to you; you'll be the first I drop." (Sam Cain, The Young Riders)
"You gonna do somethin'? Or are you just gonna stand there and bleed?" (Wyatt Earp, Tombstone)

I'm dying to use the following: "That won't matter to you; you'll be the first I drop." (Sam Cain, The Young Riders) Ya know, you could use that line at any sporting event you participate in as long as you follow through with it. I'm picturing the many volleyball serves I've had that have been successfully dropped various Beth-hecklers. And I've never used the line.... go figure. Bet I will next time though.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who did that!!! If Mel Brooks ever gets around to making another film, it'll have to be a LoTR/ Matrix spoof. Would that not be awesome?

There's a movie quote I find myself using these days! It's from Val Kilmer's Doc Holliday inTombstone:
"Oh. [Insert name here], I apologize; I forgot you were there. You may go now."
This works great as a snappy comeback on a message board.

IMDB lists an Untitled Spaceballs Sequel for Mel Brooks. It has a 2005 date but the only info on it is that Mel is writing it and he's going to play Yogurt again. We'll probably see some LoTR and Matrix stuff in there if he actually makes it.

Matrix (especially when watching LoTR, it is most humorous to add "Mr. Anderson" to everything Elron says.) I was doing that just the other day until my wife threw a pillow at me. It was worth it.

One Mr. Cali & I use all the time is a Drew Barrymore line from ET:
"And anyway, why would Elliott go to the forest?"
I also use a lot of Simpsons quotes - my favorite is
"We must move upward and not downward, forward and not upward, and always twirling, twirling, twirling toward freedom!"
and
Mr. Burns: "Smithers, bring us down." Smithers: "Um, you're flying the plane sir." Mr. Burns: (rubbing fingers together) "Excellent!"
but the one I've been using the most lately is from MC Safety and the Saftey Patrol (or whatever the rap group that performed at Bart & Lisa's school was):
(regarding crossing the street) "Just walk, don't run, drink juice, yum yum."

I can pull out a Simpsons quote for almost anything people say when they talk to me. It really annoys them.

Mr Cali and a friend of ours (whom he has known since college, so they are always on the same wavelength) can have entire conversations just in Simpsons quotes. I finally quit asking, "Is that from the Simpsons" (I didn't start watching until I started dating him, so I'm not quite as good as they are with the quotes), because I know it is.
