For some reason I think Hoosiers is considered a classic? If this offends you, Ms. Cali, then I apologize.
Johnny and I watched this movie recently, and I must say I was most unimpressed. I love a good tale of underdogs turning the tides and coming out winners. Rudy always makes me cry, yeah, that's right. And I thoroughly enjoyed Coach Carter. But Hoosiers did nothing for me. Who decided this would be a classic?

You have no heart then if you can't feel a little thing when you watch that Hoosiers.

I am so offended. Actually, I haven't seen Hoosiers, but I do believe I've heard it called a classic:) I often find myself unimpressed with movies people are raving about (Um, Lost in Translation anyone?). One of the most beloved/classic movies ever is Citizen Kane. I was rather unimpressed. I can understand why it is considered a classic (or even a great movie, I guess), mainly because of the controversy it caused and the time in which it was made, but it was a movie that I don't really plan to watch again. It was long, and slow, and had many boring parts. So, yeah, it's okay to be unimpressed with a "classic".

So, yeah, it's okay to be unimpressed with a "classic". Amen! The term "classic" is completley subjective; one person's classic is another's snooze-fest. While I personally loved Hoosiers, having spent part of my childhood in rural Indiana, I don't peer down my nose at those who didn't like it. Likewise with Citizen Kane. My brother in law believes it is tantamount to blasphemy to suggest that film is anything other than the supreme representation of cinematic art; I get bored with it. On the other hand, anyone who fails to give Smokey and The Bandit the praise it deserves better be prepared to meet me at the flagpole at recess... and bring your lunch money... ;D

You have no heart then if you can't feel a little thing when you watch that Hoosiers. Oh I got heart, the heart of a champion. Like I said, Rudy makes me cry!!!! To me it seemed in Hoosiers when they were trying to tug at your heart strings, they would move to a new scene and not allow you to get emotionally involved. Or at least that's how it was for me. I don't remember any great speeches. You had the drunk Dennis Hopper, but I didn't feel much sympathy for him. I never had many BOOYA moments.

Isn't "Hoosier" the sound a pig makes when sneezing?
