I finished Breakdown (only available on XBox) about a week ago. If you can still get the deal I would suggest picking it up from Best Buy for $5.
The game is pretty unique - it features a first person fighting system. This is similar to Riddick but this game has hooks, uppercuts, slide kicks and backflips. And it never leaves 1st person view. They did this for "immersion", and I'd say it works pretty well. Beware - if you get motion sick from 1st person games then stay away from this one.
The story is that you wake up in lab with no memories and no idea what is going on. You slowly learn that you're in some government facility that is doing research on some beings called the T'Lan. I'm not sure if the T'Lan are supposed to be aliens or just some ancient race that was buried under ground, but they have shields that make them invunerable. Fortunately you have special powers that allow you punch and kick them. Suffice to say you must somehow defeat the T'Lan and save the world.
I know this sounds like the most cliche riddled game you've ever heard of, but the story is actually good. For a video game it has some really great twists and turns. You'll quickly notice some similarities to the Matrix, but they "borrow" from a lot of Sci-Fi themes. There's not too much I can say about the plot without giving away the twists.
The main issues with this game are controls and level design. The controls are good but they take some time to get used to and you'll probably have to adjust them. The level design is very bland - most of the game takes place in drab hallways and outdoor warehouses.
Overall I'd give it an 8/10.
