Finished Riddick on Monday night I'd have to say I was underwhelmed by the game after all of the reviews I read. I thought it was a good game, but not great. The cutscenes, graphics and voicework were great. The night vision was cool and the first person fighting was pretty original if clumsy. I'd say the biggest flaws of the game were the length and the fact that you are in the prison the entire time - a little change of scenery would have been nice.
Overall it was a good start for what will hopefully become a franchise. Since the movie did poorly in theaters there probably won't be another one so hopefully they continue the story with the game.

Since the movie did poorly in theaters there probably won't be another one so hopefully they continue the story with the game. Vin Diesel claims they still want to do the sequels. Here's an article I just found. 8.11.04 By Devin Faraci Contributing Source: Empire Online Sometimes when people get their limbs cut off they can still feel it. They get an itch or a tingle from the air where their hand or foot should be. It’s called a phantom limb. I imagine this is what David Twohy and Vin Diesel suffering from, in regards to The Chronicles of Riddick. Twohy and star Diesel had always seen the film as the first part of a trilogy. And despite the fact that the film was pretty bad, and didn’t do very well whatsoever, Twohy and Diesel are still talking about making the next two films. They’re feeling the tingle in their phantom sequels. "From the very very beginning, when everyone thought it was crazy, I was thinking of The Chronicles of Riddick as a trilogy," Diesel told Empire Online, still sounding crazy. "That would start with the movie you saw, and Pitch Black would act as a prequel that introduced you to the character. So in simple terms, in Chronicles 2 we venture to the Underverse. We knew we could get away with a PG-13 on the first one, but once you go to the Underverse it's rated R, because it's a place where war is the norm and there is constant, constant battling. Then on Chronicles 3 we will see Riddick return to Furia, to deal with the homeland."

The ending to the game was good. Mr. Shade how did you like riding in that machine . I read some where that they are planning on making another Chronicles game. It will not be a sequel. It will be more of a side story. The game might be out next year.

The actual ending of the game with all of the cutscenes was really good. It's one of the few games that actually has an ending instead of a 30 second cutscene and credits rolling. The "boss" at the end of the game was really disappointing - I was kinda goofing around and still managed to kill "it" with no problem. The walking tank towards the end was very cool.
The beginning of the game was cool and the end wasn't bad, but the middle section of the game seemed to get tedious. Especially the mines before you get the Tranq gun.

Maybe they can make Chronicles 2 on an Underworld type budget. An R rated Chronicles would be great. Hopefully they learned their lesson about release dates.

Once you get to the mines the game becomes very difficult. I would give this game a 4 out of 5. What do you give it MrShade?

4 out of 5 sounds right. I use a 10 point scale for video games, but I don't have a corresponding description for each point like Johnny has for the movies.
The biggest problem with scoring games is length. If I play a fantastic game but its only 4 hours long then its hard for me to recommend more than a rental. That's why I include length in my reviews.
