Fess up - what are some tunes that you listened to when you were younger that you'll still jam along to if you hear 'em on the radio, however, you make sure your windows are rolled up so that no cars around you will know what you're listening to?
For example, I must admit that I still stop several INXS tunes and on Escape Club's "Wild Wild West." She's so mean but I don't care, baby! That's right. I love her eyes and her wild wild hair! Come on! Dance to the beat that we love best, booya! Heading for the nineties, living in the wild wild west!
*ahem*
Sorry bout that.

Wow... great topic, if not a little frightening for its potential to cause deep and somewhat paniful memories to resurface...
But, in the interest of colorful conversation, here's some of mine:
"We're not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister. Combine that with "Cum on Feel the Noize" by Quiet Riot, and you've got eight minutes of pure car headbangin' bliss!
On the lighter side of things, I will usually have my own mini car concert whenever "I Can't Fight This Feelin' Anymore" comes on.
I know. I know. But talking about it helps the healing process.

I don't really listen to the radio, as DJs tend to annoy me with their inane chatter and incessant talking between songs (just tell me the name of the song and play it already! I don't care what you did last night!), but I will stop on any 70s, 80s, or 90s themed playlist...the poppier/discoier the better (yes, I realize I made up those words).
Of course, I don't care who is in the car with me or whether or not the windows are up (although, I hate driving with my windows down, so they are ususally up anyway). But then again, I'm a petite, young-looking girl, so I can get away with it;)

We're here for you man. *deep breath* All right, I wasn't going to mention this, but here goes... I know this is a recent song, but when it comes on I immediately roll the windows up and sing quietly in my heart... Kelly Clarkson ... Since You've Been Gone ... Whew, that wasn't easy.

It's okay. Let it out. We've all got our own musical skeletons tucked deeply away. Just the other day, I found myself thumping the steering wheel jubilantly in time with...
..."MMM Bop" by Hanson.
We'll all get through this together. Hang in there, everyone.

If two machismos like Laslo and I can admit to secretly jamming to Kelly Clarkson and Hanson (that's ALL Laslo, by the way), then I know a few others can admit your own awkward jam selections. Stop being shy.

Mr. Cali had Since You've Been Gone stuck in his head yesterday.
I have to say, if any of the AIs deserved success, she did. Liking her songs is nothing to be ashamed of:)
I'm currently addicted to (ie: listen to both at work and in the car all the time) this cd that has such great classics as "How Deep is Your Love" and "Country Roads".

The truth is, there's not a song out there I won't jam to if I like it. Windows down and all. My friend and I like to drive around town, blast the stereo and try to get others to join in the fun. A few of our favorites:
--I Believe in a Thing Called Love-The Darkness
--Cotton-Eyed Joe--the Rednex
--Thank God I'm a Country Boy--John Denver (complete with air fiddle)
--Friends in Low Places--Garth Brooks (that perennial favorite of Karaoke singers)
--Sweet Caroline--Neil Diamond
Yeah. Good times.

I have no shame because I know I have impecable musical taste, but some people would try to make fun of me before I tore their love in the Backdoor Boys or hick adult comtemporary (marketed to the ignorant masses as "today's country") to shreds beacue I rock out to:
Superstar--The Carpenters You're so Vain--Carly Simon I wish I was a baller--Lil' Troy Say a Little Prayer for you--Dion Warwick
These songs are on the iPod, no less.

OOOOH...OOOH... I usually listen to XM radio in my car, but I wanted to hear some Rilo Kiley so I began pushing the number presets to find which CD I was looking for. To my surprise I found a CD that did not belong to me. Must have been left over from when my cousin borrowed my car. Most of the songs on there were pure crapola. There were a few classics that I listened to (Blondie, P-Funk, Sugar Hill Gang), but mostly I just hit the skip button. Then I stopped... I don't know the name of the artist or title, but I somehow knew quite a bit of the words. See if you recognize this one. As Trantee pointed out to everyone, I am old, so perhaps I'm the only one who will recognize it: "Ain't nothin' gonna break my stride. Ain't nothin' gonna hold me down. Oh no. I got to keep on movin. " Wait... it gets better. I listened to half of Love Shack and Red, Red, Wine (and yes, I might have sung along a bit)... but then I hit the proverbial motherload. I turned it up (loud) and sang almost every single word in time. I even hit the back button when it was over and listened to it again. Click below... if you dare... www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7T4FuJJO1EOh.. and in the interest of full disclosure... I recently happened upon that " Somewhere out there" song from An American Tale... I sang that with a little more feeling than I probably had any right to.

"MMMbop," Anything by The Spice Girls, "Barbie Girl," "Man I Feel Like A Woman," "Breakaway, Since U Been Gone, Because of You, Miss Independant, Walk Away" "Men In Black." Sometimes I pop in the South Park movie soundtrack and rock out to Uncle Fu**a, Blame Canada, and Kyle's Mom. And that's with the windows down!

I'm ashamed to admit this, but I recently bought a "best of the 90s" CD, and I find myself singing along to such hits as "I Don't Want to Miss A Thing," "My Heart Will Go On," and "I Touch Myself." (That last one was the hardest for me to admit.)

Anything by K.C. & the Sunshine Band (I have fond memories of dancing to those songs at Jr. High dances - I know I'm old). As far as jammin' with the windows down:
1. Eyes of a Stranger and Walk in the Shadows by Queensryche 2. Blue Collar Man and Renegade by Styx 3. That's What You Get by Paramore
