Boy, I'm just cranking them out, aren't I?
This is an idea for a poll, possibly... but it would work on the boards as well...
Johnny - what if you designate a huge, boffo-socko upcoming movie every couple of weeks. And I'm talking big. Something that everyone and their mother will see trailers for, commercials for, and behind-the-scenes footage of.
Then we, the faithful fans, try to predict what you'll think of it - just based on the hyped snippets we see. (Love it, hate it - or if you really want to get specific, how many marks you'll give it.)
When said movie finally comes out, you review it, and prove us all right or wrong. (Those who know you best will probably be spot on in their predictions... but maybe not! Oooh - the intrigue!)
You could make the reward as big or as small as you want - prizes, or just bragging rights. (Although, prizes could get tricky if you've got lots of people with the same opinion...of what your opinion will be... )
Anyway, how 'bout it?

A novel concept indeed. So you're suggesting I pick a movie at least two or three weeks before the movie's actual release date?
You'd probably definitely need to guess how many marks I'd give it, or have that as a tiebreaker.
Would any of you slackers be willing to participate?

Well, yeah - that's the economical option... That way, we can judge it based solely on the hype, and you can tell us whether it's actually worth seeing (in other words, the price of admission) once it comes out! It's just you doing your thing as usual, but letting us have a little fun with it.
I suppose that you could wait until the chosen blockbuster is released, but then all of us would have to shell out to see it... and it may turn out not to be worth the paper the overpriced tickets are printed on. We'd thus be generating business for a movie that should rightfully plummet into the land of obscurity... and c'mon, that's just sad...
Plus, you'd have to hold off on publicizing your review of it until your participants have all had a chance to see it...
But, ultimately - it's your site, Johnny Betts, so you make the rules... I'm just the muse on this one.
