Okay...
So what are the movies that have brought tears to your eyes?
Men, I expect you to get in on this action, too. And I want something OTHER than Brian's Song! (That one gets me too, btw.)
So.... whether it's a sad scene that makes you weepy, or tears of laughter or frustration .... lay them on me.
Let's get this list going--- Movies that brought tears to your eyes:
I'm a softy so it's not uncommon for me to get a little misty-eyed every now and then. For example, I didn't cry --- but the final scene w/ the shirt in Brokeback Mountain, might have produced a tear or two.
I'll get us started.
Two movies that actually had me straight out bawling... I'm talking heaving, could barely catch my breath crying were Dancer in the Dark and Life is Beautiful.
In the laughter department, I think that the first time I saw There's Something About Mary, I may have laughed so hard that I had to wipe my eyes and nearly pee my pants. The Aristocrats also brought tears to my eyes. Oh and there was a scene in I Heart Huckabees that gave my friend and I a case of the inappropriate giggles to the point that I bit my own hand to keep from laughing out loud... as no one else in the theater thought it was funny.
Ah... Good Times.

Heee...there was a scene in Ice Princess that did the same for me and Mr. C (and the friend who was with us).
I don't really cry in movies all that much (though I do tear up on occassion). I did cry (sob histerically actually) in Up Close & Personal.

I've heard that guys w/ size 11 biker boots don't cry.... but perhaps from time to time , the dust in the air of those old movie theatres mess w/ their allergies.

Ah, yes, that's been known to happen a time or two. I do recall that there was more dust than usual in the theater when I watched Million Dollar Baby and Cinderella Man. And, wouldn't you know it, there was some dust on my DVD when I watched Invincible. It usually seems to accumulate when I watch It's a Wonderful Life as well. But it's important to note that the dust usually only causes a little bit of, what was that unfamiliar term you used Ms. Cali - tearing up? - nothing of the hysterical sobbing variety. |

Oh, and when I watch Lonesome Dove my eyes sweat just a little bit every time I watch Gus' death scene.

Now wait a second...are we talking about tears from laughing hard or misty-watercolored memories of the way we were?
(My apologies for invoking a Babs song...It'll never happen again.)
Because those are two very different emotional responses. And since I laugh myself stupid to the point of having to dab my eyes all the time, I'll focus on the latter. I don't try to hide the tears during the following movies:
The Green Mile - The execution of John Coffey always gets me.
Saving Private Ryan - Pretty much every death scene.
Rocky - The final scene where Adrian tells Rocky she loves him just as the announcer says that Apollo won the fight, he hugs her, freeze frame, roll the credits.
Rocky II - "Yo Adrian! I DID IT!!!" Quite possibly my favorite movie moment ever.
Smoke Signals - Thomas' "Forgive our Fathers" monologue.
Henry V (Branaugh) - St. Crispin's Day speech and aftermath.
Miracle - USA beats USSR. This is right up there with "Yo Adrian!" If this doesn't bring a tear to your eye, here's your oil can.
Anyone need a tissue?

Aw man, Laslo just had to go and remind me of a few others that I have to own up to - add Rocky, Rocky 2, and Miracle to my list. Sigh.
I know there are some others that have coaxed that foreign salty liquid from my eyes, but they're not coming to mind...

I'd like to thank both Lazlo and Johnny for being real men--- don't know if you eat quiche or not, but you both have owned up to getting a bit choked up in movies from time to time. (Note for the record that it is sometimes merely due to the dusty conditions of the theater.)
Now then... Lazlo... man of impeccable taste (yet again!)
Also... let us not forget the young Christian Bale in this scene.

Oh, boy - here come the waterworks... 
I cry at movies a lot.
Here are the ones that get me no matter when I turn the blasted things on:
A League of Their Own - two spots; when Madonna gives her little "You can tell Mr. Chocolate Bar that he ain't closin' ME down" speech, and when Betty Spaghetti gets her telegram. Kills me every time.
Dances With Wolves - Everything after Dunbar comes back to the camp to find the soldiers have reclaimed it... Spivey, you creep!
A Christmas Story - After Ralphie's meltdown... I feel you, dawg.
The Passion of the Christ - Enough said.
My Dog Skip/Old Yeller/The Incredible Journey(Original)/White Fang - As a dog owner, I turn right to mush.
The Green Mile - So much emotion there... Percy, you creep!
These had me literally sobbing for at least 5 minutes after they ended: Life is Beautiful and Return to Paradise (a must-see, and one for the "Little Films Nobody's Seen" category...)
I also bawled during Titanic - not for Leo & Kate's love story, but for the sheer tragedy of the historical event. Iceberg, you creep! 
And there you have it...

TG, you nailed it! He was indeed on The Young Riders. Season two, episode Blood Moon (hey, it's a Kid-centric episode! Of course I know the title). He played Danny, who did NOT spread Cholera around town, though the evil townspeople were quick to blame him!

Ding ding ding! I can't wait to finish the Rider Review for Blood Moon (though I HATE that I had to start over) because I think it's quite hilarious when I compare the mental deficiencies of Danny and Kid. 'Tis gonna be a hoot.
He was also on an episode of Lost this season.

The Notebook. Didn't care for that movie and didn't think it all that, but I bawled my eyes out and sobbed for a full 5 minutes when the old woman asked James Gardner who the young people were. I KNEW IMMEDIATELY WHO THEY WERE. What a HORRIBLE thing for her not know! My grandmother had altizmers -- so I have personal knowledge of that crap. Patch Adams. To get misty eyed over the fact that someone can FINALLY go to the bathroom? And then when he feels responsible for that young female doctor....Wow. So much for the misty eyed, it's waterworks now. And there must have been a lot of dust in that theater because my father seemed to have some issues with an alien salty fluid right then too. Hmmm, they really should clean the theaters more often.  E.T. EVERY BLASTED TIME HE DIES. Sigh.  Charlotte's Web. EVERY BLASTED TIME SHE DIES. Ugh The Secret of N.I.M.H. When she sees her home sinking into the mud and her children are inside? Oh man!
