It's fine to buy DVDs but have you ever paid to see a movie more than once in a theatre?
When I was a teenager, I saw Pump Up the Volume (twice), Young Guns 2 (um too many times), Pretty Woman (at least 5 times) and Dirty Dancing (twice). I have no idea why.
Doesn't happen much anymore but I remember after seeing "Pulp Fiction", my friend and I decided to see it again two hours later. Also, last year I saw "Walk the Line" twice and enjoyed it even more the 2nd time 'round.

I'm the type of person who, when I really like a movie, wants to see it several times. I don't get to do that much anymore, as most of the people I go to movies with, only want to go once.
In college I saw She's All That 5 times in the theater (a couple of those were at the $2 theater though). I saw Ever After probably about the same number of times.
More recently - hmmm...I saw X2 twice on opening night, again the next day, and again the next weekend. That was a really good movie!
I saw X3 twice - but mainly because Mr. C and I saw it on our honeymoon in Ireland, and our friends wanted to see it when we got home...it wasn't all that great.
I saw Superman Returns 1 1/4 times (got a migraine the first time and left about 20 minutes into the movie).
Mr. C only seems to want to see the Superhero movies more than once. When it's Rent, or Devil Wears Prada, or Ice Princess, I can't drag him to the theater again! Hmmmm....

I have seen many movies numerous times in the theatre. If the movie is entertaining, I'll go over and over again. Recently.... I saw Talladega Nights two times (didn't pay either time though). I saw POTC:DMC three times and would go again if the mood hit me. I saw X3 twice, but that wasn't my idea. X2 I saw at least 3 times in the theater; same with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I saw both Pulp Fiction and Forrest Gump 4x a piece in the theater. <--- (our restaurant had a deal going on w/ the theater though... so I was able to see movies for $1.50. I miss that deal!!!)
Furthermore... I will also purchase the dvd of most movies that I see multiple times in the theatre.

oh -- I've got a couple but please go easy on the judgement. I was younger. I didn't know any better.....Titanic. I saw it I think 3 times in the theater. I'm pretty sure I saw LOTR - Fellowship of the Ring twice. I saw Good Will Hunting a couple of times too. Oh yeah - all the Star Wars movies - all six of them I saw twice in the theater; good thing I didn't have to pay for all of them!

I saw Titanic at least twice in the theater - then preordered it when it came out on video, and watched it several more times. I'll freely admit to liking that movie (though it just wasn't the same on video as it was on the big screen). I think I still have the video in a box somewhere, but I don't have any VCRs hooked up anymore.

Thanks MsCale - that makes me feel better. The ole ball and chain makes fun of me for seeing Titanic more than once. The special effects don't translate on the small screen do they? It was much better on the big screen.

When I was younger, I was a much easier sell on movies than I am now. Therefore, if I found a movie even mildly entertaining, I'd probably go back and see it more than once. Of course, this was in the days when films took much longer to come out on video than they do now. Couple that with the fact that I have to actually use my own money now, rather than getting it from my parents when I was a kid, and I will usually wait for the video these days.

Since the topic seems to be taking over the boards... Spider-Man. Probably upwards of 4 times...
Also: The Kill Bill installments... I saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire too many times as well... Back in the day, Braveheart, Legends of the Fall, Interview with the Vampire...
On the other hand, movies that I've only seen portions of... 'cause I just couldn't take it: Me, Myself, and Irene Gladiator (liked it better when it was called Braveheart) The Talented Mr. Ripley The Cider House Rules What Dreams May Come The Hours
Ugh.

I'm usually not one for seeing movies more than once in the theater. I can't remember ever doing it when I was younger. But things have changed a bit for me now. If it's a movie that I really love, I'll go see it again. Let's see... I saw Sin City and Lucky Number Slevin twice. And just this recently, I went to see Alpha Dog three times. I love that movie so much. And I think the movie deserves my money, since no one seems to be giving it a chance because of Justin. No, Justin isn't a great actor, but he will surprise you in Alpha Dog. He did me, at least.
Hmmm... I think that's all of the movies that I've went to see more than once. I did want to see The Departed again, but I never got around to it.

never seen a movie more than twice at a theater though..

I think I saw Titanic a few times in the theater, but mostly because I went with different friends. What I did see twice on purpose was... Step Up. I don't know why I like that movie so much. It is so cheesy, but I'm addicted to dancing movies. I should move that over to the cinema therapy thread as well... I did also see the first Harry Potter movie twice, but that was because I skipped class to go see it with my roommate early in the day and then saw it again that night with my best friend, and had to pretend like I hadn't seen it yet. I think maybe I saw the first Mummy movie twice as well. There are probably more, but I can't recall.

thought of another one- Shakespeare in Love. Saw it twice in the theater, on the same weekend.
