So I'm stuck inside all day today (and possibly tomorrow) with my ankle in a brace, nursing a severely strained ligament. My question is this:
What are the movies you all would reccommend to speed along the healing process?

So I'm stuck inside all day today (and possibly tomorrow) with my ankle in a brace, nursing a severely strained ligament. My question is this: What are the movies you all would reccommend to speed along the healing process? Either a Clint Eastwood western ( High Plains Drifter or The Outlaw Josey Wales), Tombstone, or a good comedy. I'd recommend Ace Ventura or The Wedding Singer. You know what's sad? The TV version of Ace Ventura is much better than the DVD version! The DVD cut out a LOT of scenes, and I have no idea why. But the TV version (even though some scenes have been edited for content) has the scenes that the DVD removed. The TV version also has a scene that wasn't in the theatrical cut and doesn't appear in the DVD either. In the scene, Ventura is in a bar and is about to get in a fight. A bar patron breaks a bottle and is ready to go, so Ace takes his contact lens out, breaks it on the bar (complete with hilarious glass-breaking sound), and holds out the jagged edge of the contact lens as if he's ready to fight. Hilarious. This is a movie BADLY in need of a special edition DVD.

Mr. Cali swears the best movie to watch when you are home sick is Superman 1.
All I can say to that is, "You've got me?! Who's got you?!" (really, that's the only line of the movie I can remember, no matter how many times he forces me to sit through it).

hmmm... my first instinct is to stay away from movies, now that you have the time to do stuff like watch the entire first however many seasons there are now of 24, or whatever other TV show interests you and is out on DVD!

Doesn't really matter what you watch, aslong as they're not to hard. You need easy flicks like action and comedy. Because if you sit there all day and you watch three or four Memento-like movies you'll fall asleep... eventhough that's a good way to get rid of some time too. I always like watching Schwarzenegger movies when I'm sick, or have to stay inside.

Well, I'm back on my foot, so to speak, and I appreciate all the suggestions for yesterday. I decided to go down a road that I have not traveled in quite some time, a road that runs straight through the dusty trails of my greener days.
I decided to tackle the holy trifecta of Burt Reynolds and Hal Needham, Smokey and the Bandit, Hooper, and Stroker Ace.
Let me tell ya, after several hours of exposure to all that, I'm growing a bushy moustache and thinking about getting a '76 Trans Am--prefferably with a CB installed.

A bit late but if you are a girl (which you are not), you MUST watch.
1. Anne of Green Gables 1 & 2 (give 3 a miss). 2. Pride & Prejudice (1995) mini-series.
I'm all for Freaks & Geeks or Degrassi Jr High DVDs too.
I trust that you've recovered fully.

Ann, why not 3? I thought it was good. A little far fetched, but good. Gil aged well, he looked way better than he did as a teen.
And they have Degrassi Jr. High on DVD?! I had no idea. Degrassi High too? I just watched the series at night on The N and I can't believe that Canadians got to watch that when all we had was Saved by the Bell (which totally wouldn't have done some of those topics). "Everybody wants something they'll never give up!"
When I'm laid up, a good comedy is usually the ticket.
