Which actors send up a red flag when you read their names in the opening credits? It doesn't necessarily mean they are bad actors. Your list could also include good actors who are always in bad, made-for-TV or straight-to-DVD movies.
My list (most of them are good actors whom I like but I worry when I see their names flash up).
Donald Sutherland Any Baldwin who is not Alec Beau Bridges Ben Affleck J.Lo Christopher Walkin Luke Perry
I'll leave the rest for you.

Usually, anytime the word "Shatner" appears on screen, I worry.
Likewise, the names "Swayze," "Dean Cain," and, "Howell (as in C. Thomas)" make me cringe.
BUT, after last night's shudderingly cheesy moment from CSI: MIAMI, wherein David Caruso--after learning that a car they were dusting for prints had a bomb in the glove compartment with only four minutes left on the timer--camly drives the car what appears to be across the entire city. He parks on the beach, takes his sunglasses off, and even more calmly walks away from the car as it explodes. Without even turning around, he puts his sunglasses back on, and says: "Burn, baby, burn!"
Yeah... Caruso gets my vote.

Some of my choices have already been mentioned, but here are a few more:
1) Samuel L. Jackson 2) Ben Kingsley 3) Gary Busey (Gingerdead Man, anybody?) 4) Lou Diamond Phillips 5) Christian Slater 6) Michael Pare
I saw the Caruso scene that Laslo is referring to, and I got a healthy laugh out of it. That scene has fully convinced me that CSI: Miami is an intentional parody of forensics shows.
You have to convince yourself of that if you are to get any enjoyment out of it.

Lorenzo Lamas Jerry O'Connell John Schneider James Brolin Martin Sheen + offspring Monica Potter Jennifer Love Hewitt Richard Tyson Lara Flynn Boyle Any cast member of Friends
All the juniors
Freddie Prinze Jr, Antonio Sabato Jr. Cuba Gooding Jr. James Brolin Jr. ;D You know I love the guy but he has been in some crap.

You really need to check out the episode he did on VH1's Celebrity Paranormal. Cuckoo... James Brolin Jr. ;D You know I love the guy but he has been in some crap. Hey! I think his four upcoming movies are enough to knock him off the list! Non-fan...

Oh... Josh will prove 'em all wrong...
(JB - I'm surprised you let the "Jennifer Love Hewitt" comment pass... )
Here are mine, though I agree with most of the rest that were listed previously:
(Note: Mine are more mainstream/big budget red flags... mostly because these guys are past their "box office gold" primes and should retire already...)
John Travolta Nic Cage Harrison Ford (after he got the earring, I lost all respect) Tom Cruise Robin Williams Jon Voigt (Oh, I hate to say it) Bruce Willis Arnold Schwarzenegger Any Baldwin who IS Alec
...and seeing Jackie Mason in the opening credits of any movie will ensure that I do not watch it.

(JB - I'm surprised you let the "Jennifer Love Hewitt" comment pass... ) I tend to let AustralianAnn get away with way more than the average person. (Oh, I hate to say it) Bruce Willis Really? Why do you say that? He's had four movies recently that I thought were highly entertaining - Lucky Number Slevin, Hostage, 16 Blocks, and Sin City.

Oh, yeah - I forgot about Sin City! I haven't seen the rest, but I trust your judgment... So, I officially rescind my "Bruce Willis" nomination.
To be fair, I was weighing my decision too heavily on the The Whole 9 (and 10) Yards "phenomenon". Can you blame me?

A few more...
* Steven Seagal - I haven't trusted the man since he dropped a deuce on us in the form of On Deadly Ground. Horrible. A quick look at his resume since 1994 shows that I'm justified in my feelings.
* Jean-Claude Van Damme - This guy never truly made movies that should be on anybody's "must-see" list, but let's face it - in the eyes of teenage boys he used to be "awesome."
In all fairness, he made some movies that are somewhat watchable - Bloodsport, Universal Soldier, Hard Target, Timecop - granted, I haven't seen these movies in over 10 years, so I may find them completely ridiculous now. But come on, he's now making movies called The Hard Corps.
* Rob Schneider - No explanation necessary.
* Warren Beatty - He doesn't make many movies these days, but when he makes a "comeback" you can rest assured that it'll stink up the joint.
He takes three years off after Bugsy and returns to film what? Love Affair. STINKO!
Then he takes off four more years and what does he do upon his return? Um, a little piece of poop known as Bulworth.
And if that wasn't bad enough he disappears for three more years and then subjects us to one of the biggest bombs in box office history - Town and Country.
What is wrong with this guy's decision-making? Who knows if he'll ever make another movie, but if he does then chances are it'll be awful.

I don't mind a bit of the ol' Seagull but the early stuff is best. The only Van Damme I liked was Kickboxer.
Beatty is all over. He doesn't seem as legendary to me like Paul Newman. I couldn't even sit through all of Bullworth yet every review I read gives it raves. Halle Berry was terrible.

I wouldn't trust Van Damme or Segall to sell me batteries at Radio Shack these days, let alone save the world from whatever villians torment them in their films. That being said, I must concur with JB--when I was a wiley and impressionable youth, I thought Van Damme movies were the coolest things around.

I worry when I see the names "Jimmy Smitts" and "Casper Van Dien" durring the opening credits.
