Okay... so the writers' strike needs to end. DL Hughley tried his best, no doubt, but fell flat much of the time. How odd is it to have an awards show and none of the writers are there to accept awards, etc...
I did not sit down and watch the show in its entirety, but I did catch some great parts. I was SUPER excited by some of the wins. No Country, Juno, Diablo Cody, and I think I was most excited when Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova won for best song (Once). I was sitting there thinking... oh, it's gonna go to Hair spray and then... they read the winner and I found myself supremely happy. (It was too bad that some of the winners I was most happy about were not present, though understandable. I would have liked to have heard their acceptance speeches.
Anyhoo... I've been singing and/or humming (when other ears are around) that song since I saw the clip at the awards show. That movie was a sweet little gem. I enjoyed it, but mostly I was blown away by the musicians.
I don't know if people even buy soundtracks anymore or if they just download songs... I don't have an ipod and I'm not technologically savvy in the least; however, if ever there were any soundtracks to buy, they would be from Once and Juno.
I also found myself singing along every time they played sound bites of music from that movie as well. (Juno)
I hope the writer's strike ends soon.... I love my movie awards shows/ceremonies. It's like my Monday night football. The Academy Awards are like my Superbowl... though I often prefer the Indep. Spirits Awards.
I mean... it wouldn't be the end of the world or anything... but it's making me .
I might have to give someone the evil eye, if the strike isn't resolved soon.
which reminds me.... check this out: (made me laugh)
