Well, these books have been in my TBR pile for a very long time. I was going to wait until I'd read the first book before watching the movie, but upon looking at my choices (Valentine's Day, Wolfman, etc...), We decided this was the better option.
My dad, my aunt, and I all enjoyed it. Was it perfect? No, but it was cute/entertaining. I'd watch it again with my nieces... maybe on Monday since they have the day off.
I'll let you know how it compares after I've read it, but for those who haven't read the book --- this is a much better choice than a lot of the other kid's movies out right now.
(Next movie--- Alice in Wonderland and How to Train Your Dragon!)

I love Greek mythology, and was really curious about it. I haven't read the books but the basic story is very intriguing, even though the movie had some plot issues....
The acting was ATROCIOUS. The child actors were just HORRIBLE especially the kid who was Percy. But I laughed and enjoyed the Greek mythology references and special effects. Would I see it again? No. Will I read the books? Yes, but not because of the movie. I'm hoping this will be a case of the book being better than the movie. Hollywood does screw things up.....

So, I read the book... quite a bit different than the movie. (Starts out quite similarly, though). I am glad I saw the movie before I read the book. In this case, I might not have enjoyed the movie as much.
The rest of the books are on my TBR pile. (Not at the very top, but close to it. smile.)
*** Going to see Alice in Wonderland today. It will be interesting to see what I think of that one as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass (And what Alice Found There) is one of my favorite books. ***
