UGH. This was awful.
I was surprised that Channing Tatum actually ACTED in this-he was just HORRENDOUS in GI Joe-but the plot and character development were intensely lacking. Despite the stupidity of characters and the ridiculous plot, I did like that they took several dates (and some time apart) before sleeping together. I also liked how John was strong, and didn't "cheat" with Miss Stupid, even if she wasn't faithful, while also being so good to her family even though she was such a moron. Sigh. If only there were real men like him in the world......

UGH. This was awful. Sigh. If only there were real men like him in the world...... There's at least one. His name - Johnny Betts. The bride and I were supposed to see a screening of this last Wednesday, but she slipped on some ice, slightly injured her poor little self, and didn't feel like going to the screening. She tried to tell me I could still go, but I told here there was no way that was a movie I'd see without her, injury or not. I was more than happy to stay home and take care of her - which I would have done even if it had been a screening of a Josh Brolin movie! But it looks like I should be glad we missed out on this one...

Ok, JB, but since you are OFF THE MARKET it's unfair and rude to point out that you are the only real man who is faithful and good and everything else that all other males are not. OK?
But to prove I'm not bitter (even though this does prove your point and mine at the same): Truly, greater love hath no husband than to give up a screening of a Josh Brolin movie to take care of his wife. Awwwwwww.
I'm glad you both were spared the horror, and I hope she gets better quick.

Isn't this movie based on a Nicholas Sparks' book?
That alone is enough to keep me away from this movie.
JB, hope your lady love has recuperated.

Yep. He wrote Nights in Rodanthe as well. Which I found to be a decent movie and had good actors, Richard Gere and Mrs Josh Brolin ( ). I found it decent enough to even check out the book which was eh. Apparently Hollywood is really interested in Mr Sparks since the newest Miley Cyrus movie, The Last Song, is based on one of his books. THE HORROR. It's probably another movie I'll be screening and chanting my mantra: "I'm getting paid, I'm getting paid, I'm getting PAID" just like this one was.

Well, now I feel like a horrible person for liking it. I do agree with that statement about Channing Tatum, though. Would it have killed them to put someone who can actually act in the film? (Someone like Jared Padalecki, whom I was picturing when I read the book. I would've enjoyed it even more...) Amanda Seyfried was wonderful in her role, though.

Oh, Shane... I absolutely adore you! Don't you dare apologize for liking this movie or Nicholas Sparks' books. I enjoy the unique blend of tastes that is you. From HORROR movies to LOVE STORIES. I think you are super COOL!

It really isn't fair to remind us JB, lol. I'm an avid Nicholas Sparks reader. This one, I hated. Like I told my cousin, if they don't end up togther one of them better be dead. I really wish they would make his book The Guardian. Its different from his others, a suspenseful book. And yep, Miley is starring in his latest book. He wrote it just for her, she wants to be Mandy Moore.
