Ok......I got about halfway through this and dumped it. I'm not a fan of Amy Adams and the Irish guy wasn't doing anything for me. Now I like romantic comedies, and I understand they get a little ridiculous and contrived at times but this one took it too far. Watch only if you really, really don't have anything else to watch. Seriously, go watch Avatar first, I'm betting it has more romance than this.....

Yeah, I don't usually pay to see these types of movies in the theatre. I *DO* like Amy Adams (ever since Junebug) and the good Lord knows I have a soft spot/love for the Irish. This movie was less than spectacular. It was cute at best. Thank goodness I found Matthew Goode's smile/dimples to be semi-swoon worthy. And oddly enough, I think the fake Irish accent made him more attractive than his normal English accent. This is a far cry from the worst romantic comedy I have ever seen... and it could have stood w/ a bit more comedy... but it is NO WHERE NEAR good enough to justify paying movie theater prices to see it. Wait to rent it or for it to come on cable. If you just HAVE to see it in the theater, def. go for a matinee... or better yet a dollar theater, if you have one near you. There was one joke in the movie that I found hilarious that no one else in the theater laughed at involving the mispronunciation of Eoghan. I read a lot of fantasy (many books about the Fae) so I am all too familiar with trying to figure out the pronunciation of many Gaelic words/names, which never match what you think they would be when seeing how they are spelled. In this instance, Eoghan=Owen.
