Saw this last night. I thought the trailer looked interesting, even though I knew it was based on some children's book series. Ehh.... it was OK. It seemed like it too a long time for anything to happen, like it took at least half of the movie for Darren to join with the Cirque. And I know I'm not its target audience, so I'll take it all with a grain of salt and say that probably if you're between the ages of 8 and 13 you'll like it, and if you must accompany someone of that age to the movie, it's not too bad. I don't know anything about the book series, but maybe reading those makes a difference. I'm curious about what the books have to say about THE vampire, Crepsley, because John c. Reilly was just strange to watch sometimes as the Good Guy but Badass Vampire.

This is mostly my opinion, although I think I was more entertained then MsAng. Having NEVER liked Reilly (he's always in crap and with Will Farrel who I despise), I actually was surprised to like him in this and his odd anti-hero character. I haven't read the books either, so can't compare, but I think I might want to check them out...

I saw the trailer for this and rolled my eyes. And this from someone who is a fan of vampire stories. I thought it looked LAME!!! The whole Fam went and saw it on Sat. and we all enjoyed it. I was truly surprised that I liked it. It was cute. Both my nieces enjoyed it (6 and 11) and their parents both liked it a lot too.
We especially liked John C Riley. I enjoyed seeing Patrick Fugit sp?, too... not that you saw much of him.
