Well, having not liked ANY of the movies and having DESPISED most of the child actors in the films, I still was looking forward to this movie simply for Snape. Surely, as his role is rather pivital in the book of the same title and the last one of the series he would have a larger part in this film. And, played by the excellent actor Alan Rickman, would be a joy to help me through screening this as the pay I would receive wouldn't be enough. Sigh, it was not to be. Snape is probably on screen for a total 5 minutes! The rest is filled with anti-climatic scenes, GOOD GRIEF even the loss of a monumental character had no emotion, and while Emma Watson is back to being good again (her performances had been lacking), she can't make up for the two boys who are terrible. The actor portraying Slughorn does the part weirdly, in almost a creepy way, which was not how he was in the book... If you are a Harry Potter fan, you'll see this no matter what. If you liked movies 1-5 you should enjoy this.

I liked it. I'm not going out and watching it over and over. Then again, I have only read this particular book twice. Once when it first came out and once right before the last book came out... to refresh my memory. (actually, I reread all the books.)
In any case, I wasn't put off by anyone's performance--- I thought that the book was followed fairly closely.
Not my favorite book of the series nor my favorite movie of the series; however, being that I love the series, saying that this wasn't my fave doesn't mean that I didn't like/ enjoy it for what it was... because I did.
