I've been waiting for this since it was originally called Nottingham. I'm not looking forward to Crowe being Robin (don't take away my message board membership for that comment, please JB!) and it would have been really cool to see it from a different point of view, the Sheriff being the better guy. But I am crazy about all things Robin Hood, so I will be there.
Also, Matthew Macfadyen as the sheriff? I say down with Robin!

Oh... cool. I was confused for a second. (Not too difficult a task, confusing me. ) I had read your comments on The Dollhouse, True Blood, and TYR *and I must have been in T.V. mode. I thought... cool, I thought they canceled this show, which I totally liked. Until you mentioned Matthew Macfadyen, my mind was still in the wrong place. I was thinking... why would they bring the BBC show back w/ a new actor playing Robin. duh! I can't really picture Crow as Robin right now, but I think he's super talented so I would look forward to seeing his take on it. I'd also love to see some Matthew Macfadyen is that rumor ends up being true. Oh... and if Cate Blanchett is in it, then you need say no more. I'm soooooo there! correction: Steph78 commented on a thread you started in TYR section. Told you I'm easily confused.

Yeah, still haven't heard too much of this, but I'm definately seeing it at I agree with TG-Robin Hood is awesome, even if the actor playing him can't speak with an English accent I'm the proud owner of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves because of Rickman, Freeman, and yes, Slater. I'm not really a fan of Crowe, but he is VERY talented and I've liked some of the things he's been in and ROBIN HOOD!

So I WAS interested in this movie. I've always liked the story of Robin Hood; ever since I saw the animated Disney Robin Hood with a fox as Robin and a bear as Little John and up to Robin Hood Prince of Thieves (who CARES if Costner can't speak with an English accent, Rickman was the BEST Sherif!) and so this movie with an actor who can legitimately fake an English accent and is a good actor besides, Russell Crowe, certainly appealed to me -- until I saw the trailer last night.
Both TG and I DESPISE movies being advertised by past merit. This trailer TOTALLY did that. The same director as Gladiator. The same actor as Gladiator and who won an Oscar. And they are mainly showing fighting in the trailer. OKAAAAAAY. So is this basically Gladiator in England among the trees? Oh, wait, it's the first half hour of Gladiator when he's fighting in Germania, it's just with different clothes and lengthened into 3 hours! And all that is bad, very bad, but the WORST part is the heavy metal music in the background. EXCUSE ME?
What I HAD been interested in I'm now very much NOT interested in. I'll see what upcoming trailers are like in the future for my final judgement, but I'm severely disappointed.
