Well, I saw that they made this or are making this into a movie... and thought--- Awesome. Then, I saw that Tom Hanks is in this one, too. I then thought... WHY!!! ? My excitement level dropped by about 95%. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against Tom Hanks - or Ron Howard, for that matter- , but I think he was miscast as Robert Langdon. This one is one of Dan Brown's better works in my opinion. Maybe I'll reread it when I'm home for Christmas.

I do think Tom was miscast, but funnily enough, DaVinci Code is the only think I have ever really liked him in (oh, I take that back. I love That Thing You Do). I'm not a Tom Hanks fan.
I liked Angels and Demons better as a book - while I liked DaVinci Code the movie, I HATED the book. I am not a fan of Dan Brown's writing at all, but A&D was at least readable.

I agree. Angels and Demons was the better book, but I think Da Vinci Code will be the better movie. I don't know about miscasting. I read both books after the movie.

Da Vinci Code does lend itself better to the movie screen than A&D does I think.
I'm sure they are going to lose a lot of content just eliminating all of Dan Brown's stupid narrative that does nothing but describe what Robert is wearing, or how he is feeling, etc. Since you don't need to SAY in a movie that he's wearing a red sweater...just put him in the *(#*^% red sweater and be done with it already! (Heh...see, I really do have issues with Dan Brown's writing style).
