And OMG, Josh Brolin with Javier Bardeem from NCfOM hair in the McGrubber skits! *dies laughing* (I love the McGrubber skits. They never fail to crack me up. "Give me your watch!" "No, this was my father's watch." "Give me that bottle." *breaks bottle to make shiv* "Give me your watch!" "Okay!" Hee)

I only saw the McGruber sketch. Funny! I also saw the one where he was going to propose. (Usually, sketches THAT bad are reserved for after Update.)

I just can't believe a show as old as SNL can't hire DECENT writers. "Let's have Kristen Wiig just roll around on the ground and act like an idiot and perhaps people will think that's funny!" Um, no. Thank goodness Josh made the show bearable (the "I'm No Angel" skit WAS inspired). Loved the "Fall Foliage" skit and the fro as well. Now I can go back to never watching it again.

And I'll reiterate what I said on TMM - SOMEBODY needs to hire Dillon and Brolin RIGHT NOW to star in a comedy as brothers and they MUST wear the bad 70s/80s hair and 'staches.
Allman Bros cover band, Skynyrd groupies, it doesn't matter ... just do it!

The Kristin Wiig character is one they've done before. Kristin Wiig is usually histerical, but that is not a good character. I think it would have been great if they had done a Penelope skit instead (basically Kristin Wiig plays this character named Penelope who talks in a voice that is both really soft and a bit whiney, as weird as that sounds, with somewhat drawn out endings to a lot of the words...anyway, she always has to one up whoever she is talking to, and it always gets to ridiculous proportions).
I love Tina Fey's Sarah Palin impressions too - she just has the look and voice down so well.

SNL--or, as I call it "reading cue cards awkwardly for 90 minutes"--has been circling the drain for years. Tina Fey was the best thing to ever happen to that show, and now that she's gone, I find I've lost interest.

Nothing better than watching SNL in fast forward. See the Palin impersonation, then fast forward through the woman that rolls around on the floor, stop for the digital shorts... Brolin rocked it.

I didn't mind the Wiig skit... Maybe because I know people who (though less exaggerated) act like that...
I thought Brolin did a super job - not that I was worried - and you could tell that he took it seriously... What a pro... So proud I am.
His best skit was the one where he played the newly-homeless guy. Well done - and topical! ;D
