I liked it. Ever since the Summer of 2001, when my family got our first satellite system, I've been in love with reruns of Beverly Hills 90210. That show started my crush on Teen Soaps. Since then, I've watched Gilmore Girls, The OC, and "Gossip Girl."
Last night, the CW aired a newer, updated version of 90210. Even though the 2 hour pilot episode mirrored the pilot of the original (2 siblings from a small town move to Beverly Hills and attend West Beverly High), it was surprisingly good. The cast was awesome (Especially Full House alumni Lori Laughlin as the aformentioned siblings' mother. She's still pretty hot.) and sure, the plot was seen before about 18 years ago, but throw in cell phones, blogs, turn the Peach Pit into a coffee house by day/happening club by night, it's relevant now. Returning cast members Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty were just the cherries on top of this fun, cheesy cake. (Although, I'm still hoping for a Kelly/Brenda slap fight. Maybe in episode 4 or 5.) I'll be tuning in every week.

I MISSED IT!!!!!! (Okay, okay, it reruns tomorrow night, and we already have the DVR set to record it). I'm hoping this will replace The OC as my new guilty pleasure show. For all the TYR fans, Curly (Rob Estes) from the episode A Good Day to Die is also in this. Whoot!

It filled the Guilty Pleasure gap pretty well for me. The first scene in the school parking lot set off my GP radar. You'll know it when you see it.

I inadvertently saw about 90-120 seconds of it. I did get to see Rob Estes... that man doesn't age! *I use to like Silk Stalkings... want to talk about guilty pleasures.
I slept through the new Bones and the new Prison Break. hmpht!!! I think my sister may have dvr'd Bones, though. I've watched TYR three times through now; read the Twilight series at least 3 times through again; I'm just finishing up The Land of Elyon series (I had to reread the first 4 before reading the latest one) and I think I have about 50-75 pages left in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (I misplaced it!). Poor Mr. Shade --- I'm the cruddiest book club member ever!!! I've read lots of books, just not the one I was supposed to have been reading.
I didn't really watch 90210 too much the first time around. My friends and I watched it at first because it was soooooo cheesy and we could make fun of it. Then it got REALLY popular it seemed and we stopped watching it. I didn't see enough of this one to comment on it. I'm glad you liked it Shane. I hope you like it MsCali. *(I've never seen the OC, either.)
I've been watching Weeds on dvd and Dexter. Oh... and I've watched Pride and Prejudice a bunch of times.... 3 different versions, too. Weeds is pretty darn funny! Speaking of... before bed, I'm going to either finish up Season 3 of Weeds of finish reading Stargazer.

TG, you should really get the OC on DVD. Especially the first season - it was such a great guilty pleasure show! It's the show that brought us Chrismakah (Christmas and Hanaukah together). Eight days of presents, followed by one day of many presents!
I did see the new 90210 last night, and I think it will be one that I will catch when I can, but it isn't a must see for me. It was good (and I am all for anything Rob Estes is in), but not great. I never really watched the original one either - it was forbidden in my house, and I felt rather guilty the few times I saw it at a friend's. LOL. I have seen most of the episodes now, thanks to Soap tv or whatever that channel is.
Mr. C just got Dexter (the first season) on DVD yesterday, and was watching it all afternoon. I'm not really that into it - I don't like the look & feel of the show at all, so I can't get interested in the storylines.
I didn't realize the new Bones was on this week either!!! I wanted to see the London episode, even though I'm still not all caught up from last season (I do know what happened in the finale, so seeing the new episodes won't really spoil me).
Wow, you are reading a lot of books right now! I haven't had time for reading lately (other than bits and pieces here and there in "What to Expect the First Year." LOL).
Speaking of which - I should head to bed. I have a little boy who will be waking me up to eat before too long.
