I just want you to know that I am NOT a Lakers fan. Oh, I will cheer for them if they are playing a team I really hate, but otherwise, I don't really care if they win or lose. I am a Clippers fan (for pretty much the same reasons you say you are a Celtics fan on the site - they seem to love playing the game more, their fans & games are more fun, etc). And since the Clippers will never win...anything (alas, like my beloved Cubbies), I say "Go Boston!"

I would like to issue an apology to Ms. Cali for incorrectly assuming you were a Lakers fan. I thought you had mentioned that once, but alas, I was mistaken. *ahem* Well, let's say I must have "misheard" or as Roger Clemens might word it, "misremembered." I should've known you'd choose the Clippers over the Lakers if for nothing else than to go against the tide

Meh, I liked the Lakers years ago (when they were winning all those championships and I was rather new to LA, so didn't really even know about the Clippers...they are rather overlooked). But then I went to some games (it was nice working in a place where the CEO had season tickets to the Lakers, the CFO had season tickets to the Clippers - 5th row in the folding chair on the floor season tickets! - and both were happy to share them). The Clippers games were much more fun. And yeah, I do like to go against the tide. Clippers fan, Cubs fan. What's the worst football team in the NFL? If I were a football fan at all, I'd root for them!

As of last season, the worst team in the NFL would be the Miami Dolphins - they only won 1 game.

Eh...I can't like Florida teams. I don't know why, but I have never been able to like Florida teams. I'll stick with rooting for whoever is not favored to win in the Superbowl (hey, it worked last year!) and not really caring about the rest of the season.

I don't care that much for the Giants either (I'm a die hard Redskins fan - even though they haven't done too well lately), but I will definitely cheer for them over the Patriots...or the Cowboys for that matter!

Generally I would root for the Pats (my mom grew up in Boston, so we do have a fondness for the Boston teams in my family), but they were so heavily favored to win that I just couldn't do it.
Mr. C grew up in New Jersey, and we watched the Pats Giants game over New Years when we were visiting his family. I was outvoted then, since I wanted the Giants to win (I also don't really like a team to go undefeated in a season), and it didn't happen. The superbowl was nice vengenance.

The superbowl was nice vengenance. Amen to that! I was so tired of hearing about the Patriots "perfect season" and I didn't really care for the head coach's or the players' attitudes.

(I also don't really like a team to go undefeated in a season) Since it's only happen once (Miami, 1972), and isn't likely to happen again anytime soon, I'm curious as to your thoughts on this. Laying aside any prejudice against the Patriots for a moment, what's wrong with a team trying to go undefeated? Isn't that what every team strives for? I'm not trying to start an argument here, so please don't misunderstand me. I'm also the farthest thing from a pro football fan, so I don't have any loyalties to any team. I'm just curious.

I don't have any logic for it, I just don't like it. LOL I tend to root for the underdog anyway, and nobody should be perfect. Plus, I am mean.

I basically don't have a problem with a team wanting to have an undefeated season. I think my main issues with the Patriots were their overall attitude (they really wanted to rub the Dolphins' noses in it), the cheating scandal and so forth. Now contrast that to the Colts from a couple of years ago (I believe this was the year before they went to the Superbowl, but I could be wrong on this). They were on track for an undefeated season and whenever the press asked Tony Dungy (a class act as far as I'm concerned) about it his response was that if it happened great, but they were mainly concentrating on keeping everyone healthy. I think that speaks volumes about the differences between the two coaches. JMHO by the way!
