Okay... this movie may not be that obscure... especially since THE Josh Brolin is in it. As soon as he came on screen I remembered Johnny mentioning the movie, but until then I had forgotten all about it. In anycase... for some reason fate chose to send me three movies (not in order in my on line rental queue) that all involved someone dying or being murdered. This one is told in chapters. Each "chapter" centers around characters who may not have known the Dead Girl, but whose lives were touched in some way by her. This movie is definitely worth a rental in my opinion. The individual performances are stellar and it was an interesting albeit at times disturbing tale. Okay... it's late and I'm off to bed. My weekend movie fest of three independent films (obscure or not) was satisfying. [Twelve and Holding, Hard Candy, The Dead Girl].... but I must say that after all those it was a breath of fresh air to watch something a bit lighter and funnier (Knocked Up). J.B. I'm tired... I'll come back later and discuss in greater detail Josh Brolin's performance. Happy movie watching!!!

J.B. I'm tired... I'll come back later and discuss in greater detail Josh Brolin's performance. TEASE! I haven't seen this yet (waiting to pick it up for $5 at Blockbuster), so please, indulge me with all the Brolin details and how awesome he is. I know it's a fairly small role, as are all the roles due to the film's structure, but is he given enough room to work a little of that Brolin magic?

Yes, it's true that due to the film's structure that most folks don't get a whole lot of screen time; however, what little screen time they had was quite good.
YES--- Josh Brolin definitely makes his presence known. He looked great, too. I mean... I wouldn't want to date his character or anything.... but I totally bought his character, if that makes any sense. Plus, I liked all the tats.
I don't think I'd pay $20.00 to own it--- not that it wasn't exceptional... it's just not the type of movie you watch over and over again. If you see it in a sale bin, you should definitely pick it up.

This was a good movie. My sister rented it and I watched it. I love the tangled story plot structure, and this was an exceptional example of that. I also wouldn't buy it for 20 bucks, but if it winds up in a sale bin, I'm picking it up.
