I've gotta put it out there... some of my favorite shows are on Discovery Channel. I like Dirty Jobs a lot, much in part due to the humor of the host Mike Rowe. (I think he's pretty hot).
The Myth Busters show is also pretty interesting on most occasions; however, my crack like addiction is reserved for The Deadliest Catch. Before I had dvr... I actually played hookie from work once (only time in my entire life) so I could watch the all day marathon.
Like every junkie, I can remember my first taste... it was an otherwise ordinary day.... I had called my sister to say hi and see what was new with her & the girls. I asked the innocent (and now infamous) question: "So, what are doing?"
My sister replied that she was watching Deadliest Catch. "Qua?", I said. She said that it is a show that follows around the Captains & Crews of some boats as they go crab fishing on the Bering Sea. "Sounds riveting" was my sardonic reply. I'd never heard of it... so I asked what station/channel it was on. I picked up the remote ( I might as well have been picking up the pipe) and sampled a mere 12 minutes of the show (if you take out the commercials, anyway).... and that's all she wrote!!! I've been hooked ever since.
BTW--- Mr. Funny/ Hottie Man is the Narrator of my Tuesday Night Addiction. (Mike Rowe that is... I figure I better clarify, I figured some of you were thinking... when did J.B. start lending his skills to a television show?)
I'm so glad that the new season started... I'm completely stoked... I now have something to look forward to on Tuesday Nights. (Until Veronica Mars comes back... smile.)
For anyone who hasn't seen the show and is tired of American Idol (which has been a fairly lackluster season... though I think it is getting a bit better).... You should tune in and check out the show.
It's the only type of reality based t.v. worth watching. smile.
