If you aren't watching this show, why not? I'm not really a big fan of most medical dramas (I hate ER so much!), but I really like House.
The stories are always interesting, and House himself is such a great character - simple in such a complicated way (hmmm...that probably makes no sense, but it works).
Anyway, watch this show if you don't already.

I don't really watch this show --- as I don't watch much t.v. --- but I've caught it a few times and it is very good. I love Hugh Laurie. Loved him in Peter's Friends, Sense & Sensiblility, and of course Blackadder.
His accent is quite good in House. I saw a commercial? or whathave you for Inside the Actor's Studio w/ him as the guest. Interesting.

This is my favorite show on tv. I only watch it when it gets on DVD though....Then I can enjoy it all at once and whenever I want. I love the wordplay, the sarcasim, and all the devious games they all play on each other. The 3rd season was just so fun in pointing out how all of them have been changed by House. And of course, the medical stuff is neat!

Haha. I used to love this show. but my mom cut the cable so now I can not watch it.
Now that I do not have it and I think about it, I do not really like it.
First of all it gets on my nerves that if you are not there from the start of the show you have no idea whats going on (or maybe I am just a bit slow).
I hate to be this guy, but the whole idea is a bit silly, you can not be a doctor and use the patients in experiments. He would be in jail by now
Also I find House to be a bit of a Jerk.
I hope I have not any of my many legion of fans over this....

.
That's why his character is interesting. Again... I can't speak to much on this matter as I don't watch the show... though I have seen the show.
I actually like the character of House. And I think if my choice was having a mediocre to good doctor who was very polite versus having an excellent doctor who is curt, blunt, and YES-a bit of a jerk.... I'll take the latter.
I like Hugh Laurie.
My sister can't stand to watch the show either... so you're not alone and I'm not mad at you. I happen to think it's a clever show, but I have to budget my time and I have other higher priority shows to watch.

HN, Good grief! Not going to be offended about you sharing your opinion! If I share my opinon -- which I do and quite a bit -- I have no reason to be offended when others share theirs. ;D
The thing about medicine is it is a PRACTICE. House, for the most part, does things that are unusual but still mostly within medical parameters. It's usually in his personality that he does things that are truly outrageous. And when he has done some medical things that are more risky the patients sign the permision form. If a patient signs the form they can't sue. If you miss an episode or two, you may not completely understand what is going on with the story behind the main characters but you can always get the main story of the patient's issues and treatment.
TG, Hugh Laurie IS awesome in this part. Truly great. I can't see any other actor playing this part and coming close to pulling it off -- let alone making a completely obnoxious jerk be so likable at the same time you acknowledge the fact that he is a jerk!
Budgeting time -- that's why I just buy it on DVD and watch it commercial free and at my lesuire. It's awesome.

I LOVED not having the underlings! It was great to just watch House, Cuddy, and Wilson. I don't really want the underlings back.....

I did catch the first show and was a bit confused as I didn't see the season ender, etc... but I found it interesting.
I found his firing of people amusing. I especially liked the "I like you number 9 comment" followed by the tattle tail lady's reaction when she realized that the former number 6 was back.

Anyone else still watching this? I've lost interest. House isn't nearly as amusing and crabby as he used to be, so all I'm seeing now is his completely nasty side and so I'm not caring and sympathetic anymore. I still don't like Foreman, never have, Cameron is useless, and surprisingly enough I like Chase now (WOW, never thought I'd see the day). I'm pissed that Cuddy is now completely at the mercy of House's every whim (she used to stand up to the guy, I HATE powerful females getting reduced to nothing) and while I like one of the new guina pigs House will torture, I'm just not feeling the show anymore. House was the reason to watch House, and I don't care for his character anymore -- he's too much of a jerk/pig. He used to have some redeeming qualites/factors in his favor, and he doesn't anymore.

Okay, the tv stayed on after watching Bones and I saw the episode where House kidnapped the soap opera star. THAT was a cool episode. And it seemed like House was back to his usual self. I might check out a few more episodes.... I have to say I love witch chick and Wilson. Very cool.
