Found a bunch of clips, but not the one I was looking for. I might need to search by season/title. What is the episode where Jimmy is learning to read and has the hilarious line "... and the cat said 'Meow'." as he is reading a children's book???

The first Jimmy reading episode I know of is when he is working with Vera Collins in the Hawk's raiders thing - Season One, Gathering Clouds part 1 or 2.
Then later he does some more reading when Noah first becomes a character, Noah gives him a better book because he's reading about the cat and the rat - I'll have to look that one up - not sure which one exactly has your line.

It's the Jimmy & Noah scene in second season. I know once of the sites used to have that listed as a favorite scene, but I haven't been able to find it yet. Unfortunately, my season 2 tapes are in the bottom of the closet (and I tore that closet apart looking for some particular yarn yesterday - I don't have the energy to do it again so soon)...also, I don't have a vcr hooked up anymore either. I'm still looking though!

I can't remember the exact episode either. If you can just wait another six years then I should eventually get around to doing a Rider Review of it.
If those citified jack-a-dandies at Sony/MGM would go ahead and give us Seasons 2 and 3 on DVD then it'd take care of a lot of these problems.

I'll put it up if I know the epsiode. Unfortunately, I don't have the first 5 episodes of S2. I hope it's not one of those.

Hey Ann - I don't think it's one of the first 5 (I was able to find episode guides for most of those). It could be though...I'm thinking it came after Requiem for a Hero (didn't Cody's love of Hezekiah Horn's books inspire Jimmy to learn to read better or something like that?).
I could be wrong though. I used to know every scene of every episode by heart. What is my life coming to? I really need to set up the VCR in the guest room and brave the lack of air conditioning (in the record setting heat wave we've been having) so I can actually watch seasons 2 & 3.
