Hi everyone, New here, but I thought i would mention that i am reading a book about the Pony Express called "Orphans Preferred, The Twisted Truth And Lasting Legend of the Pony Express" by Christopher Corbett. It's very interesting and to my surprise he goes into a bit of detail about movies in regards to the Pony Express. He even goes into quite a bit of detail about THE YOUNG RIDERS. If you are in a bookstore and do NOT want to buy the book haha, go to page 222. It's sort of nice to see that they are included in the many stories of the Pony Express.

Thanks for the tip, Lisa. I'll definitely be on the lookout for this.
Hey Rhi, it's good to see you back around these parts. I feared you might be gone forever.

haha not sure if i'm THE Lisa from NYC you are referring to. The book does state at the end of the page that the author felt that the tv show was UTTER NONSENSE (don't agree with him on that one) but it was pretty cool and interesting to see it mentioned in the lore of the Pony Express.

No, it ain't that Lisa.
Lisa...Lisa is a rabid Young Riders fan who used to be on the message boards when people actually posted on them. A few have migrated here because we were already familiar with Johnny's dry obervations and sharp wit from The Doorless Stall(which has some kick-ass rider reviews).
JB, did I ever tell you I did my business (#1 only) in a doorless stall just for the fun of it? There were two other, doored, cubicles available. I wasn't caught.
I watched the pilot the other day and, despite his cheating in the fight, I didn't hate Kid. He was quite sweet in that episode. I'm not sure when my irritation started.

The doorless stall and Johnny's reviews of the TYR is what brought me to these boards. I sat in my office in TEARS, I was laughing so hard at the reviews. I loved this show from the beginning and was thrilled to find out they were coming out on dvd, then to find that there were boards where other fans would talk about the show. Even Better!!! Oh, and i'm a Josh Brolin fan, 100%, but i loved Stephen Baldwin as Cody. Perfect match.

Was The Doorless Stall your true inspiration? If so then in some sick, twisted way, that makes me proud. I watched the pilot the other day and, despite his cheating in the fight, I didn't hate Kid. He was quite sweet in that episode. I'm not sure when my irritation started. Like I've always said, that was his finest moment in the entire series. He peaked too soon to ever have a chance.

I've had to say this in response to many emails I've received asking about it, so let me just reiterate here - the Rider Reviews are not dead. They will return. I'm young and busy, but I have an obligation and a desire to finish them. Sometimes I wish I had kept "The Doorless Stall" name for the movie site. I think there's more potential in regard to merchandise.

I'm not gone forever Johnny. I'll always come back sometime. I just have very random internet access privacy - and I haven't been watching any movies that aren't on basic cable.
and I tried to watch my TYR DVDs - But I just can't. Just can not do it.

I have watched all the Jimmy episodes. When you don't have the show you want it so badly but when you own the DVDs, you can put it off and watch them at some future point.
I have several box sets which I haven't touched (hangs head in shame at unnecessary and perverse materialism).

I watch all of the Jimmy episodes and some others but i refuse to watch the one with "horse-face Downing" and "daddy's girl".
I like keeping my dinner in and not throwing it up. ;D

I also owe Nikki Bluejeans one, and I owe a couple of people the "Best of" Josh Brolin DVDs that I'm putting together. I seriously need more time in the day. Or some rich person who'll sponsor my Movie Mark activities so I can retire from real life.

Because you don't want the experience to be over so soon? Because it hurt. It was bad. I remember it being so much better. ?? You watched The Kid, Gunfighter, Ten-Cent Hero, Fall From Grace, Bulldog? They all stand the test of time, easily. Granted, there are some episodes such as Daddy's Girl and Hard Time that don't generate interest, but the show is as it always was - as long as Jimmy and/or Cody are around then entertainment abounds.

I think I'll but a few Young Riders clips on YouTube. Some random fans might search for it and there's only 1 short promo right now. Any suggestions for scenes?
