I picked up CLASS OF 1984 on DVD yesterday, being only 90 minutes long I popped it in to wathc before American Idol started (yes I know I am lame ;D).
I didn't remember much about the movie from when I was young (pretty much only remembered the overly violent parts) and I must say that I am surprised this movie isn't more well known. It has seemingly been carbon copied by films such as Dangerous Minds, 187 etc. It's message was somewhat foreshadowing of future events (metal detectors in high schools), the only main withdraw I could see is some cheesy outfits and 80's music but pretty much all 80's movies fall prey to those.
I wonder why the public ignored this film so much??

Just say you're watching it for the hotness that is Katharine McPhee and all will be forgiven. As for Class of 1984, I guess it all has to do with promotion and star power. Had it starred Anthony Michael Hall and Molly Ringwald then it'd probably be huge. I'll admit that I've never seen it. Not surprising, since I was only seven when it originally came out.

As for Class of 84 I was 2 when it came out, but due to having an older brother when I was about 7 I first saw it on video and always remembered it, hence me picking it up on DVD. But I do agree if it were to have been a "Brat Pack" movie it would of done a lot better.
