I can't believe I never mentioned Get Over It. We watched that one again a few weeks ago, and it just gets better with each viewing. The whole scene near the beginning, with everyone walking down the street to "Love Can Keep Us Together" is brilliant, and Martin Short is at his best as the high school drama teacher (he ad libbed most of his lines).

You may have hit the nail on the head .... I love Seth Green. I think he's awesome. Yes, I'm a BtVS fan so I will eternally love him from that. My friend made me go see some movie about a demon hand or something. It was NOT good, but it was nearly bearable simply because Seth Green was in it. He and the other comedic sidekick were funny.
I could try to look up the name of this movie, but some things are best left forgotten.

How in the world has nobody mentioned Can't Buy Me Love? That's awesome stuff right there. One of my favorite teen movies is What A Girl Wants. Colin Firth is just too cool.

Oh-- contraire mon frere!
Good call though. It's a classic. Would you consider Real Genius to be a teen movie??? Not completely in line w/ most of the classic teen genre flicks. I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!!
Btw--- Colin Firth is the ONLY Mr. Darcy in my book. He is fantabulous!
All around---> Good calls! smile. Thanx!
*** update: though I still have nothing but love for Colin Firth... the more recent version of Pride and Prejudice has grown on me. I watch it again and again now. ***

Check the name, tangentgirl...
Real Genius would most definitley fit the teen movie genre!
It's one of my favorites...
"We've had no one at the mutant hamster races... we had one entrant for the Madam Curie look-a-like contest--and HE was disqualified... why do I bother???"

'moles & trolls'... smile. Speaking of... I have to get to work myself. But first...
"Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid, with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you? ... Why am I the only one who has that dream?"
I instantly bonded with a total stranger once when I uttered the phrase "It's a moral imperative!" *** I often just spout of lines to my favorite movies. (I never make mention of the movie. I just go along my normal day to day conversations and out they come with no introduction or explanation. After I say a line, I usually continue w/ the regular conversation as if nothing had happened. My sister says I suffer from Cinematic Tourettes Syndrome.)
Anyway.... (tangent girl, remember?)....
This guy must have overheard me and responded with the Chris Knight throw your head back and laugh thing and winked at me. Made my day. smile.

Good call on Mr. Darcy. Did you see Pride and Prejudice with Kiera Knightly? I don't care if it was King Arthur playing Mr. Darcy he was terrible. Kiera wasn't all that either. I realize she was nominated for an academy award and everything but I just didn't dig the movie. It paled in comparison to the A&E version. I want the 8 hour movie or nothing at all!

Hey... what's the name of the movie w/ the hazing of the underclassmen, the paddle, the potsmoking... the chic who resembles renea zellweger (sp?) who was in Chasing Amy? and Mathew McConaughy was amazing as the pothead who couldn't let go of the highschool girls and parties? Dazed and Confused. I love all of the 90s teen movies. She's All That and 10 Things I Hate About You are my favorites. In the 80s, let's just say that if John Hughes had his name on it, I loved it. Ferris Bueller's Day Off and The Breakfast Club got me through high school! I love Jennifer Love Hewitt. I didn't see Can't Hardly Wait, but I'm one of the few who liked I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. I haven't watched Ghost Whisperer in the longest time. The last one I saw was the one with John Stamos's hot wife from Full House as a mother who's son's ghost is terrorizing her newborn baby.

One of my favorite movies which hasn't been mentioned (it may be because everyone else on this board is way younger than me and may not have seen it) was My Bodyguard. It came out in 1979 I believe and I just love that movie. I guess mainly because I was picked on in school and could relate.
Another favorite - Better Off Dead. It's one I love to quote as well. For some reason John Cusack doesn't like to be associated with this movie now - can't figure out why though, he was great in it.
Other favorites - Real Genius, What a Girl Wants, Back to School, Adventures in Babysitting, 10 Things I Hate About You, Three O'clock High, Pretty in Pink.
With regard to Pride and Prejudice - I love both versions, have them on DVD and watch them quite frequently.
