I know there was another Smallville thread somewhere but I hope it's OK to start one in the TV section.
I enjoyed the season 6 premiere. It's nice that a show can still keep me entertained after all this time.
I liked the Phantom Zone and how it looked. Smart covering the baddies in cloaks so we won't know what they look like now they've escaped. It was nice seeing Raya (can't spell it) and the black dude from Buffy make a reappearance. Continuity!
I wish Clark had made a reference to Jimmy looking a helluva lot like they guy who stole his powers that time. It would have been a nice nod to loyal fans. Of course, it's technically not the same actor (Shawn Ashmore from X-men) but Aaron Ashmore (who played Troy from Veronica Mars). I'm scratching my head a bit with that. I think (and hope) that Jimmy Olsen will be a good addition to the cast. It will be nice having a goofy mail on the show. I'm sure he'll work out much better than Jason Teague did. I hope that he and Clark will become friends and that Chloe will finally get some lovin' (I don't mind from which one),
Didn't like Zod's interest in Lana. Couldn't he have worried about Lana at some future point rather than revealing his evil plans? I would have Zod's heir. He wouldn't need to ask twice. I grinned a bit when he stabbed her hand. Michael Rosenbaum was great, as usual.
I never get where they are going with Lionel's character but I do like the direction they're heading with Martha. It's nice to have something for her to do (so to speak) for a change.
Not much Lois- good.
Do you think Clark was disappointed that Chloe dismissed their kiss?. I wasn't sure how they were trying to play that bit.
Finally (JB- do not read this paragraph) so much homo-eroticism. When Clark kneeled before Zod and he grunted and whatnot, I was in pervert heaven. And when Zod talked about how it left a bad taste in his mouth when he consumed Lex's essence....well!
(JB resume reading)
The best thing about this episode was Clark finally moving towards becoming Superman. Clark seemed more likeable than usual in this ep.
The worst thing was Lex not being able to remember anything. It's a plot deviced used far too often on this show and it's a copout.
I just hope the rest of the season is a good one. This show has so much potential but gets caught up in silly romances and pointless villains. It only really shines in the finales and premieres. I hope Zod comes back at some point in the form of Terrence Stamp.
Welcome back Smallville!
Oh, and I've been to Iguazu falls. Just thought I'd add that.
FAMOUS IDENTICAL TWINS
Sean and Aaron Ashmore The guy who plays Xander on Buffy. Jordan from Crossing Jordan. Jeremy and Jason London (I though they were the same guy for a long time).

I got seriously irritated with this show (copouts, identical lines every week, identical plotlines every season and sometimes every week, and the ANNOYING relationship/trust issues) and then I started watching it again because I'm obviously crazy . IT'S A MAJOR SOAP OPERA, but it's a fun soap opera and I love watching those special effects and the episodes with other comic characters (Flash, Aquaman)! Batman, anyone? I like Sean Ashmore better than Aaron so far. I think Sean is the better actor -- of course I'm just judging by their performances on Smallville (not fair to bring in Sean's big screen performances). I think it'll be interesting to have the Jimmy Olsen character on the show, especially as Chole had an intimate relationship with him in the past (wasn't it the 4th year that came out?) when she was 16. I, too, would have liked a nod to the episode with Sean Ashmore, but maybe they thought that would confuse people. I definately think Clark was disappointed that Chloe wasn't interested in him/dismissed the kiss. AND jealous that she wants to be with Jimmy -- I mean James. That's another annoying thing about Smallville. Clark's jealousy is irritating. As well as his general stupidity. AND the love triangles/issues that have to take on galatic portions. I personally would have been extremely happy if Zod hadn't been in the show at all. A friend of mine who also watches the show with the same issues I have with it, was hoping Zod would have had a bit more time than he did drawn out in several episodes (he'll probably come back ) and if they do, it'd be interesting if Stamp was involved -- but he probably won't be. I, too, wasn't pleased with the fact that Zod was quickly after Lana. What is WITH Lana anyway? She's annoying, wishy washy, girlie girl and everyone is always after her. Gets old. But yes, I do love Rosenbaum. He is just awesome. Of course, Chloe is an awesome and seriously underappreciated character who doesn't have nearly enough screen time. I WISH they would just kill off Lana or have her move to Japan as Paris definately wasn't far enough. I don't mind Lois as long as she isn't central. I'm not ready for her to become a big part yet, but I do LOVE her bickering with Clark. I was a bit concerned in this episode to see them get "close." I want that mutual irritation/strong dislike to stay for a good long time because it is GREAT fun. I'm a little curious how some of the bad guys in the phantom zone get to become vicious ghosts and now some are on Earth. Way to go, Clark! A bit convinent that Martha's plane landed at the fortress, that the portal exit from the phantom zone took Clark to Earth, and the crystal from Jor-el's assistant took care of a possessed Lex who's "essence" was absorbed/consumed/GONE? Whatever. It was an entertaining show for the most part.

Okay, the Hurricane Clark episode was GREAT. I love the Lois/Chloe/Clark dynamic. Interesting to see what they're going to do with the Green Arrow -- and as much as I love Rosenbaum he was lacking in this episode. Maybe it's because he's always around Lana? They need to kill off that character--she's really getting beyond annoying--and it doesn't seem like the Lex/Lana relationship is going anywhere. Especially as Lex CROSSES the line all the time, but Lana just gets pissy and then gets over it. Clark seldomly CROSSED the line but any time he did Lana was at his throat. Seems a bit weird......
I'm not sure what they are doing with Clark's character. I hate how they are starting to make him a creep. Just because he and Lex aren't friends anymore doesn't mean he should write off the guy's life. When told Lex might be in trouble, Clark couldn't care less until the idea Lex might know something about him is brought up. Yeah, Lana's stupid, but she hit right on when she told Clark not to bother trying to pretend he was trying to help Lex just for the purpose of helping Lex. His comment to Chloe that he's no hero is certainly true -- not that I'm completely expecting that -- but a decent guy would be nice. Clark's always seemed to have that major responsibility for the world thing, and if that's really true to his character, then the writers should realize that Clark would want to save Lex out of that even if he didn't like the guy anymore. Sigh.

I agree Rosenbaum was off this week. He didn't have much to work with in the way of dialogue though, did he? I've noticed that they're writing Lex as a bumbling, weak or possessed character lately. Where's the evil genius? How could he be shot again? They're all over the shop with Lionel and now Lois has suddenly found her life's ambition because of a barn door I like the pregnant dogy, darker Lana. I hope they continue in that direction as I can't stomach her as is for much longer. I liked it when Lex said, "you're free to make other arrangements." I also laughed because she kept watching and rewinding herself undressing. I'll be interested to see how they write Clark this year. No more mopey Clark please. I want hero! Clark. I liked the goofey Clark/Chloe scenes. Would like to see Olsen again next week. This ep was a disappointment - as was Green Arrow's acting.

I just want Lana dead. She got really irriating during season 3 and worse in 4. By 5 I wanted her character to "take a break" again in Paris or whatever. This season I just want her character to die so she won't ever come back. She's getting progressively WORSE. Yep, Lex sure didn't have much in the way of good lines this last episode, and he SO used to. Major disappointment there. The barn door was pretty crazy and funny. I loved "the wall of weird" Chloe trying to find a scientific explaination for Lois. Lois has been dallying with writing for a few season now, so it didn't bother me. The added "alien" angle to the article was hillarious as Clark is an alien I have no idea what they are doing with Lionel. I never have and while he's never been a fav character in my mind, he's more interesting in these later seasons then he was in the begining. I'm okay with mopey Clark, just not STUPID Clark. Funny how he'll be decently smart one moment and then a complete iddiot the next....... I don't insist on him being a hero, just not a creep or a jerk. I was also disappointed that Olsen was missing since they set him up so nicely in the premire. Weird. And yes, they SO should have gotten a GOOD actor for Green Arrow as the guy they got is terrible.

I might as well 'fess up. There's only one character I despise more than Lana and that's Lois. I think the character is terrible not funny at all. A complete miscast too.
However, hopefully with the writing thing, she will go in a new direction (since I've now lost all hope of this pointless character being written out).
On occasion she can make me smile but in her scenes with Chloe more than the ones with Clark.

How is it that truer words have never been spoken? I agree with practically everything ya'll said, so I won't quote anyone.
That scene with Jimmy (or um, James), Chole and Clark was the best out of the entire show, I was completely happy with a scene for 2 minutes and 10 seconds.
Is it just me or do they always have Lois in a bikini, or tight low cut shirts all the time? The least they could do is have Clark shirtless to balance it out.

I basically agree with most of what's been said regarding this season.
* Clark was definitely a little saddened by Chloe dismissing the kiss and was even more hurt when she played him off as just a friend. Wah. Give the girl a super kiss, make her knees wobbly, and BE A FREAKIN' MAN! Don't start moping all over again.
* I did like that Lex showed a bit of the pimp hand when he told Lana that he'd take the cameras out of her room but the rest stayed. That's how he lives and it ain't gonna change.
But we really need to see more of his darker side this season. It's time to really blur those lines!
* I like the idea of introducing the Green Arrow, but the jury is still out on the effectiveness of the execution. I think I would've preferred the Green Hornet. Oh well, I guess they need something for next season.
* I like the dynamic of keeping Lionel's intentions in the dark. Is he still evil? Does he truly want to do the right thing now? The mystery makes him one of the more interesting characters.
* There was definitely some sort of "put less clothes on Lois" mandate for this season. I just wish it'd been somebody hotter. I've never thought she looked all that great. Her facial structure bothers me.

Yeah, Clark's going mopey AGAIN (I second JB, can we PLEASE have a real man about now? He's 20 or so, not 12!), the girls are getting even LESS clothes, and even Lex is losing his appeal. They AREN'T doing anything with his character and FINALLY Lex told Clark off about they aren't just having "differences" anymore, Clark is simply not welcome anymore. Cool! Now DO something with that. I simply don't like the Lana/Lex relationship at all, I want more dark Lex and instead I'm getting Green Arrow. I'm really not impressed with this season at all.....maybe it'll get better?

I thought the last ep 'Arrow' was pretty good. I thought Lex had improved a bit. I don't want Arrow on the show to long. It's supposed to be about Clark. I do prefer evil Lana! to the regular kind.

I haven't had the chance to watch the very last episode, but "evil" Lana would be when she was possesed by the witch or if she was helping Lex with his dasterdly experiments -- what is going on now is Paris Hilton Lana who pretends to put up a fight about things but really she's just her mindless, brainless self. WHAT are they doing with her? Because all I'm seeing is an idiot. I agree, the show is supposed to be about Clark, and sometimes I think they lose that. Of course, like JB, I want to see Clark grow up a bit and be a bit more manly.......I would love to see him and Chloe together. I really like Chloe!

I liked last week's Arrow episode as well. The arrow with the diamond that refracted the alarm lasers was especially cool. I laughed when Queen called Clark "Beav."
I appreciated the "Justice League" hints as well.

Yeah, I'm liking The Arrow more and more. I'm really disliking Lex now, and he was my favorite. They just aren't giving him interesting material and his performances are just not good.
Clueless what they are doing with Lana. I can see how Lex progressed to his character, but I have not idea how Lana got to where she is. Then she seems to go back to being the nice innocent? HUH? How did she get there?
Also annoyed with the honesty/trust issue in EVERY relationship in Smallville. Sheesh. Lana and Lex are REALLY irriating and I want it to stop. Lana's character needs to go. Lex needs to get cool material and become more a focus again.
Not liking Chloe's and Jimmy's relationship. Jimmy was always a geek, but he's downright stupid in the series and it kills me to see Chloe with him. She is WAY above him. I want her with a nice and intelligent guy. NOW.

For me I love Jimmy. Every time he mentions Chloe being "his girl" I melt. Best thing the producers ever did was bring Jimmy on.
So in the last episode did anyone notice the end of Lana and Clark? Finally after (what 6 seasons?) Clark has moved on. All it took was for Lana to become preggers. Although I hope he doesn't move directly into crushing on Lois. Let Clark have just a little romance before the next longing begins. *Snore*
I was a little mad when Clark got mad at Chloe. It wasn't her place to tell him, it was Lanas. And weirdly Tori Spelling didn't annoy me as much as I thought she was going to.
Anyone else really excited about Wed. Justice League ep?

I was a little mad when Clark got mad at Chloe. It wasn't her place to tell him, it was Lanas. True. Clark expects Chloe to keep his secret that he's an alien from another planet but then gets all huffy when he finds out Chloe was keeping Lana's secret? Get over yourself, dude. The best part of the episode was when Lois was talking about what a great kisser the Green Arrow was, not realizing it was Clark. Chloe's and Clark's expressions were hilarious. Anyone else really excited about Wed. Justice League ep? Yeah, it's piqued my interest; I just hope they don't botch the opportunity.
