hey Johnny - is there a link to the doorless stall around here somewhere? I was sending friend there, and kept having to google - If you set up a TYR on DVD section, can you put a link there? I'm suggesting that friends read up on those reviews to kill time between now and the DVD release.

Here's the link: thedoorlessstall.tripod.com/theriderreview/riderreview.htmlI'll definitely include the link in the TYR on DVD section. I'll probably put it at the top of the page. Might as well promote my Rider Reviews along with the DVDs.

First, let me say: Whoo hoo! Hell to the yes! ;D Now, Nabe3, The Young Riders was only one of the best tv shows ever to grace our humble existence. Based on the legendary Pony Express, there was Kid (who was hiding an ewok in his shirt), Jimmy "Wild Bill" Hickok (who's hair was greasier than Domino's pizza), Lou McCloud (like you didn't know he was a she), Teaspoon Hunter (who liked raw onions and bear grease), Noah Dixon (Mr. Bootylicious himself) and many others. The best show of my formative years (aside from Miami Vice and Cagney and Lacey*). Make sure you buy it. If you don't, no one will like you. Seriously. Good stuff. Head over to Johnny's site to find out more. --Dunks *-that was sarcasm, folks.

Yes, Nabe, The Young Riders had no equal during its '89 - '92 run. Josh Brolin ruled the day with his portrayal of Wild Bill Hickok. However, despite what some might lead you to believe, his hair was quite shiny at times. Every now and then you'd think he entered a gunfight right after putting the blow dryer down.
Dunks also didn't mention my 2nd favorite character on the show - William F. Cody, played by Stephen Baldwin. He brought the comic relief.
You're at just the right age to pick this up on DVD and become a fan. My Rider Reviews will help you enjoy the show even more. I envy you, son, these are the best years of your life. This is your chance to trace the footsteps of little Johnny Betts. Who knows, maybe this will open the opportunity for you to be the Johnny Betts of your generation.
It's an opportunity; grasp it.

Almost wet myself upon finding out this information. It's funny they're not using the original font on the cover. I'm going to sulk at the lack of extras but rejoice over the clear, unedited DVD quality season 1.
My favourite season so I can't complain. I want to pre-order it now but will hold out until March I think.
By the way, Josh has perfectly clean hair. They just sprayed on the Chrisco for the look of the times.
Johnny we are in complete agreement. Jimmy was the best character followed by Cody, then Teaspoon. Sam gets an honourable mention but I didn't like him in "Blind Love."

Come on, he was just gonna let Jimmy hang? And you're right; Teaspoon is great. If you like Westerns at all then you should seriously consider adding this to your collection. Great combination of action and humor. The DVD set is worth buying just to heard Jimmy say, "Oh golly, that’s what I’d expect coming from you, Kid." Truly one of the funniest moments in TYR history. I hold out hope that they'll put some effort into the special features for the next two seasons. Ed Spielman has already stated that he'd be happy to help out, so why not take advantage of that??? And it wouldn't be hard to get the cast together for a reunion.

WHOOOOOOOO...and may I add....HOOOOOOOOOO!
Now, I just have to figure out how to convince people (okay, mainly Mr. Cali) that this is an essential wedding present. Hmmm...
Or, I could just buy it myself and not have to wait until the end of may. Yeah, that sounds like a better plan:)

seriously chica. Buy it for yourself.
Jen and I were talking yesterday about how the fandom could take a filmcrew out to Mescal and OTS and do a bunch of extras. We probably know more, collectively, than the executives at this point.

ICAM the actors were great, they worked so well together and the sets were awesome, movie quality I think, the riders were like a family who would do anything for each other and others too
